  1. Grubber, Brace yourself for disappointment. I would be surprised we do anything. But hell, who knows. Ozzie, surpise me, please !
  2. Force, I dont guess Colin is on your Chrismas card list. C'mon, even if you dont like Cowherd, you've got to admit he is SPOT ON with Marshall. If we snag Marshall, our whole offense has just improved by quantum leaps. Deep inside, though, I bet we watch someone else snatch him up. We end up with another guy (#2 or # 3) and everyone acts like we just picked up a #1, since we dont already have one. It was just nice to dream for a moment. We'll know soon huh ?
  3. All kidding aside, Colin Cowherd believes we are Super Bowl favorites if we pair up Marshall with Flacco. Yeah, sometimes Cowher is a nut case, but not this time. Flacco has got to have a playmnaker. Marshall is the best WR in football. So he has a questionable off-field track record. Put him our system, he will flourish. If we just signed Donte Stallworth; we can certainly sign Marshall. If it just takes a No 1, Ozzie, for God's sake, just do it man. Do it !!!! GO RAVENS !!!!
  4. Cleetz, Walter is attractive but only after you secure (or miss) Marshall. Walter isnt going to scare the opposing D; Marshall does and will. If we fail with Marshall, Walter looks like a very good no. 2 or 3. Still need a No 1 guy and Ozzie needs to pull the trigger by this weekend. If not, we are left with table scraps (after the elite receivers - Marshall - are gone) or a 1st round pick in draft. Pull the right trigger Ozzie !
  5. I totally agree. Get Marshall, leave Cromartie alone.
  6. Dont want him; dont need him. We have our aging vet in Derek Mason. Besides, why would we want a player whose team improves after his departure - see Dallas Cowboys last year. Nuff said.
  7. Wow! The discussion is indeed endless but telling- its almost suited for Oprah. I wonder whether this guy will actually make the regular season roster ?
  8. He would have fit better in the Bungles organization, dont you think ?
  9. ESPN Rumor has it Cromartie might be shipped out of SD and Chargers might entertain a swap for a RB. Since Rice is our GUY and some feel that McGahee could be moved this offseason, would that be worth a swap ? I'd rather keep McGahee and acquire Cromartie (the greedy guy that I am !) but wondered about others thoughts. GO RAVENS !
  10. I keep hearing Chad P may be a casualty cap in Miami. With the possible release of Troy S and the need for a vet QB, would Chad P makes sense in B'more. Any thoughts ?
  11. I meant our win/loss record would stay in the 7-9 to 9-7 range if we dont upgrade our WR via FA and or draft. If Mr Flacco gets no playmakers, we arent joining the elite.
  12. Max, I hear you but still say no big play WR in offseason = another 7-9 to 9-7 team. I understand the BPA approach in the draft, but if we havent gotten a playmaker WR by then, it would be idiotic to skip on the BWR in the draft. It should be an interesting offseason .
  13. No new WR (via draft or FA)= No playoffs in 2010. Book it ! If, after watching SB, no one can see the QUANTAM LEAP this team needs to make in WR, then we are mired in 7-9 to 9-7 mode for the next several years. Yeah, we need CB, TE and DE help but the WR position needs MONUMENTAL help and NOW.
  14. Id give up Smith for a 3rd round draft pick, combine with an other pick, say 4th and use to land Marshall. Dont know if that is enough but at least we'd have another pick.
  15. Spear, You got it. I am not saying we have to draft/acquire all WRs and TE. Just a little balance, please ! Cant wait for draft and the 2010 season, esp since we see the Saints at M & T. Boy, that would be a helluva prime timer, huh ?
  16. Did last night's performance by two offensive juggernauts absolutely underscore the inadequacy of our pass offense ? Granted, the Colts are human and there were some key drops - Garcon on 3rd down, for one. Still, I am sure we all saw just how much this team needs to go in terms of a SB caliber receiving corps. We clearly have the OL, running game, and the QB. Capped or no-capped season, the Biscuit, Oz and Harbs have GOT to bring us some receivers in 2010. There cannot be any more excuses (i.e. we thoughjt DWill was going to come through) by Oz. Harbaugh may need to make a few concesssions. The SB in 2010 is there for the taking. We need to get same dang receivers and shiore up a few holoes on D and we can be there!
  17. I'd give us a B. I thought before the season began we would be between 7-9 and 9-7, esp w/o drafting a top flight CB and WR. So, from my perspective, I thought we overachieved. On a side note, we had a rather disfunctional team - world beaters one game, horrible the next. Smoked the Broncos one week, lay an egg against the Bungles on another week. This next season is critical for the organization as we would make the postseason 3 times in a row. Dont think we have done that yet. If we are going to take a step and join the NFL's elite, we have GOT to significantly improve our secondary, pass rush and WR corps. Joe needs to elevate his game. The future, with the right moves, could be very, very exciting
  18. Cleetz, I wonder what our backup plan is for Webb, in case he doesnt come back in 09. Its unlikely but he could miss the bulk of the season, if not all. I am sure the FO will have a plan, either FA or draft.
  19. Yep. Hindsight is....... Still, our FO's inability to draft good WRs is disappointing. Maybe they can turn the tables this year.
  20. I keep hearing about this dude "Shipley" from Texas- supposed to be the next Wes Welker. ESPN's Colin Cowherd is foaming at the mouth about this guy. Maybe he will be around in the 2nd or 3rd round, after we draft our WR in the 1st round. If we can get one of those WR's in first round, a FA WR, bring back Mason, and then maybe a Shipley, we might have an offense.
  21. Crav, Are you going to tell us how you really feel? ! Sorry guy !
  22. I think having a solid vet as a back up is helpfull because not too many QB's make it through a 16 game schedule. You need a very solid and capable #2 who can step in and help a team make the playoffs. Max, Thats the point. How comfortable are we with our current situation (even if Smith stays) ? I wouldnt mind a Dilfer type (2010 version).
  23. No. We need to pay this guy. Man, how would this help out our team. It aint gonna happen but its sure nice to dream. Hey, I just woke up !!!
  24. Thinking about Zorn as QB coach kinda makes me nervous. He was not successful with Campbell (yes I know he was HC not QBC). Perhaps Zorn would be more effective as QB coach, in our system with Cam.
