Since Torieys not the guy and we're approaching the trade deadline and we are unable to draft our own wide receivers I wonder if somebody like AlSean Jeffrey might make sense. We've proven that we can homegrown our own receivers we might as well go ahead and start working on it now. What have we got to lose

All good posts. It's frustrating how this organization hasn't drafted/developed a legit NFL receiver in 20 years. Why is that ?
-
There are "conflicting" reports that 49ers may be willing to part with Smith before Nov 1 deadline. Don't know whether its true and if there's mutual interest but he has hands, stays healthy and can burn. Food for thought ?

Harbaugh : "We have great relationships, and I do like and love our guys. I told one of the guys in the meeting today, 'I love you, but I despise you right now on that play.' And guys get it," Harbaugh said. "They're OK. It's all about just pushing them and coaching them and trying to just teach better football — really is where we're at. ...I've been impatient for quite a long time, and they know it." Translation = He's unsure of his message and statements and has lost the team.

Yes !!!!!!! This !!!!!! Why captain obvious hasn't figured out is beyond all comprehension. Fix the OLine; that's a start to rebuilding the offense w or w/o Joe. Establish running game and pick up pieces - game changers in the next couple of years. Gotta start somewhere.

Max, indeed it's a lot to process. From the last SB win, we have done a 180 and the bottom's dropped out before our eyes. And it's across the board - FO, coaches, players, etc. Even as a fan, the bottom has dropped out, too. It stinks to root for an irrelevant team - it feels like a browns fan ! The sooner we clean up the FO, find a leading HC and future franchise QB, the better off we'll be. Until then, may we all persevere through "the Sunday grind" and hopeful return to relevance.

You are right; there's parity but we're bad right now. And you cannot deny we've got little to show - talent wise - except the DL and maybe Tucker. That's it. Harbs got rid of the guys who "played like a raven" and replaced them with a bunch of high character, soft guys. This is an organizational, cultural problem that was created since at least Ray and Reeds departure (maybe longer). Luckily, given the parity and watered down league, it doesn't take much to sneak into the playoffs. Still, it will take some time to rebuild this team and make it playoff worthy. There's a big ship to turn around and its going to take some key changes and time. Not jumping ship or bridge here.... just opining on the team's current and future outlook.

Yep; the 5-6 years of blown drafts are on full display. Meanwhile, our rivals are stockpiling talent - at the skilled positions. The question is what, who and when are we going to do something about it.

Max, Agreed 100 %. Amazingly or ironically, while mentioning or sensing the team's demise (in the past coupe of years), most posters never acknowledged and/or scoffed at the notion the team was heading south. Regardless, it'll be very interesting to see how this organization - from top to bottom - responds and turns this ship around.

This is one God awful team- as bad a squad I've seen coming here in 96. Mucho problems, no talent and horrible coaching. Eric Weddle is our best player.
-
This team is pathetic - don't think Neagan, Rick or Meashawn could help it.
-
Yeah , just what the doctor ordered for Fitzpatrick. He should put up big Fantasy numbers for the first time this year. It's enough to make you puke
-
Sounds like our offense. Could be one fugly game
-
Crav, its like deja vu all over again ! Btw - is Pags really gone ? If so, too bad he couldn't take over for Pees.

Well said Max and others. Since the SB year - 2013- this team has lacked the character, chemistry and substance (personnel) of the great teams we watched last decade and part of this one. This winning formula and mantra left with Ray and his final season. Somehow someway this organizations needs to find the right people in the front office and on the field to bring that winning formula back. And like many posters have already lamented , I think we will continue to see tthis team continue to grind it out every Sunday, winning here and winning there, but remaining in mediocrity until the above formula is rediscovered.
-
You know, this team almost reminds me of the pre-2008 mode - when we transitioned to Harbs, Flacco and Rice. It's beginning to feel that way again. And if it happens, it's not so bad. The league is so watered down and play is so mediocre, any team can go from last place to first place in a yr or two. As far as I'm concerned, the sooner the better on the transitioning.
-
The team drafts Joes eventual replacement this years draft. Meantime, its Joltin Joes team. Next season, Harbs or whoever is the HC, gives Joe a run for his money.
-
Have to play Jets before bye. It'll be another carbon copy of this game - another grind it out 17-16 kind of game. Look for that from here on - every game
-
Manning was also 32-46 for 403 and 3tds and 100 passer rating. It stinks for us but the D gave it up (after J Smith went out) and the O shot itself in the foot too many times. This team right now plays well enough to .....lose. There's not much difference between last years and this years team. Frustrating .
-
Max, I beg to differ but I think you're way off. I'll give you a huge apology if I'm wrong .
-
Please do.

I'm seeing a major beat down on Sunday. Joes going to be running for his life and Manning puts up fantasy numbers. The bye won't come soon enough.
