  1. Ouch. That 96/97 D was atrocious and that's being kind. Like I said, we need to rebuild the whole thing.
  2. As I was lamenting over the team's early season misfortunes, I happened to catch Colin Cowherd salivating over the Bengals and Pats early season success - which is hard to argue. Then I was listening ad nauseam to NFL Network and how the Pats can do no wrong, even drafting their kicker Gostkowski to replace Adam V back in 06/07. Again, hard to argue. In looking back over the past few years, ours is the only D that has shut down NE's vaunted offense. Granted, it was with Ray, Reed, Ngata, Pollard (who took out Gronk) in our last SB run. That formula worked then but it ran its course. If you are the Biscuit & the FO, we've got to establish/create a new defensive identity moving forward. A reinvented D that designed to manhandle and dominate the current and emerging offensive schemes and athletes. I am certain Pees isn't the guy to coach em and not sure Ozzie can scout or draft em. We've got to hire someone who can lead this current/future breed of athletes, their skill set and mentality. One positive out of this defensive implosion is this - we can start to design the next defensive scheme and target the right skill set/players. Sometimes you got to take your lumps and look to the future. I'd rather suck it up now, get worked for a year or two (max), reload/rebuild the D (and O) and position ourselves for the next run.

  4. Crav, it's now a watered down league. And the tough as nails players are a dying or dead breed. I don't know we will ever see a guy like Ray Lewis again. I sure miss that style of play.
  5. Staying on topic, I'd like to see the FO find a damn defensive leader - a modern version of Ray Ray or Ed Reed (not that there will be another one). With Suggs soon riding off in the sunset, we will need a guy who exudes the "play like a Raven" mentality.
  6. Uh, what about Jax ? Wait, they have Blake Bortles. Never mind
  7. This team just hasn't been able to finish at critical times. Many things are missing and somthing just ain't right.
  8. Yep, Crav, the off-season wont get here soon enough.
  9. This is about the worst, untalented and underperforming bunch I've sine the franchise started in 96. Don't blame SSS for hanging up after the season. If he's smart, he'll go on season ending IR.
  10. Josh McCown 457 yards passing. Let that one sink in fellas
  11. TBird - I guess we might be the new clowns.
  12. It's pretty telling and depressing when a home game with the Browns is viewed as a toss up . It shows just how mediocre this team has become. Let's hope the Biscuit and Oz can right this ship pretty damn soon. I am sick of looking up at the Bengals in the Division.
  13. Crav , You are 100% spot on . if we don't have a prolific rushing attack we don't win tomorrow .
  14. T Bird, If they are the clowns and always choking on the final drive (like last week), why do we need a big pass rush from our front 7 ?
  15. Good points. Other than Michael Vick (who can no longer throw), who hasn't torched our secondary. Look for McCown to put up big numbers to the delight of fantasy owners. Our offense must control the LOS, pound the rock w Forsett, and Joe must be "good" Flacco. The Browns are a play or two from being 2-2. So are we. It should be another competitive, hard fought game. Tucker could be a big factor.
  16. Can Justin Tucker play WR ?
  17. I like the Patterson deal . Plus, the dude would give Perryman a little competition once he gets back on the field
  18. Anyone know his status; whether he's likely a go this Sunday ?
  19. We still need 1 more WR, even after the Givens pickup. Without SSS, we need a "go to guy" .
  20. Yep. And we are only at the quarter poll; lots of season left.
  21. He is our Jimmy Chitwood (from Hoosiers)- I can make it coach !
  22. He's the offense's (if not the teams' ) MVP !
  23. Well, thanks to Tucker, Tomlin and Scobee, we pulled it out and I was OFF on my prediction. Hey, a win is a win and breakfast is better, the day is better and the weekend will be better. Thank goodness that the O and Forsett rediscovered the running game. And Tucker is worth every penny he's paid. Still, this team and season is hanging precariously by a thread. Harbs and all of us are ecstatic over the W ( as we should) we are in serious WR help. Need to bring a FA WR and quick. .
  24. Exactly. Like i said, we've all seen this horror show before
  25. Good point ! Ha ha
