Rmaniac52, I think we all felt the same way going into last year's tilt in Cleveland which we lost 24-18. Jason Campbell started that game; Hoyer is starting Sunday and he just knocked off a very stout NO team. I would give the Browns, not us, the edge in this 1 game.
-
I m with Rasta et al on a close, low scoring, "grinder" game. As with most games, the outcome could easily hinge on 1 or 2 critical 4th Q plays. The Browns and Hoyer needed a 4th down conversion in their territory to sustain a drive and kick a winning FG to beat Saints. They were on the losing side of that scenario in week 1 against the Steelers at the Burgh. The Browns are beginning to play with a certain swagger and substance we haven't seen in a while. Their 12th man will be pumped. I see a very close, competitive game on Sunday. Defense will be stiff on both sides and points at a premium. Barring a rash of turnovers, I see a 3-5 point game w/a score 16-13 or 20-16.

Wagner is becoming quite a find and a much needed one on the OL.

With 10 games left, we are 2 1/2 games behind LA Angels. LA closes its season with Texas at home, followed by challenging trips to Oakland and Seattle - two teams struggling to make the WC. Meanwhile, we have Bosox at home, then trips to NY and Toronto. In short, its unlikely but we could catch LA and capture #1 seed. As I understand, #1 seed plays the WC winner, while #2 plays #3 (likely Detroit or KC). If you had your druthers, would you rather see the Os capture #1 and play WC winner or get #2 and play Detroit or KC ? What's our more favorable path to the WS ?

Max, I disagree. This guy hung around until what the 4th or 5th round. There was ample time to draft West - a guy the organization really coveted. Anyway, that ship has sailed but it's frustrating to watch us pass on these guys when the FO knew it eventually needed to replace Rice and West would have been an ideal successor.
-
Yep. this organization totally blew that one. After all this talk and hyperbole about drafting this local Towson boy; only to have passed on him was a major disappointment. Totally blew that one and I have a feeling we are going to regret it, starting Sunday.
-
How sweet it is !!! . Also, did you see where the Yanks and Girardi were having a meltdown last night against Tampa Bay. How great to be celebrating the AL East while the "once" mighty Yanks, Bosox will be sitting on the couch in October.

Os offense : in the wake of the CD suspension.

Os looking good tonight, especially after watching DeAza's bases clearing triple. I really would like to see Buck use him and his speed as lead off hitter, and put Markakis at 2. This team is going to have to manufacture runs in the playoffs and De Aza would be excellent at lead off. -
Couldn't agree more. After upsetting the Saints and practically upsetting the Stealers at Heinz, that team will be absolutely pumped on Sunday. Plus, Pettine would love nothing better than to beat his old coach and friend Harbaugh. This all points to a super amped up crowd and inspired performance by the Browns.

Hey, is Bazooka Joe visiting Mickey Ds again ?

Max, I hope our D brings it Sunday. I am expecting a slobberknocker in Cleveland.
-
Arent we expecting him to play by week 5 or 6 ?
-
Does anyone know his status and when he is eligible to return. I read somewhere that, under the recent NFL Actions on Josh Gordon et al, he might be eligible to return sooner than later. Anyone know what week he can return ?

Crav, you are back !

Os offense : in the wake of the CD suspension.

Agreed but are we going to limp into the playoffs or be firing on all cylinders ? We need to have our Mo going into the playoffs. -
Cleveland will provide a very stern test for this offense on Sunday. They defeated a very good and SB favorite Saints team yesterday and will be sky high for an AFCN rival and, like ourselves, an opportunity to go 2 and 1. Look for a dogfight.

Os offense : in the wake of the CD suspension.

I don't know how many more of these come from behind 2-1, 3-2 wins Buck and Co have left in their back pocket. We are getting the wins, through hook or crook, and the season has been impressive. But I am really wondering how this offense is going to fare against the starting rotations of Detroit, Seattle, KC or LA. -
Os offense has really become punchless in the Yankees series, esp since the CD suspension. You wonder whether it's just another 2-3 game game funk or whether all these losses- Weiters, Machado, and CD - are now beginning to take their toll on the team. These are a lot of losses to overcome and you have to wonder what Buck is planning to avoid limping into the playoffs.
-
Exactly. We left another 2-3 TD on the field the other night. And we are still having some difficulty running inside the 10. Id like to see us start to work Lorenzo T in a play here and there. Keep in mind Cleveland and their so so QB Hoyer put up 24 points against the Steelers in Heinz field. Just saying ....

It' might be Arthur Brown time sooner than we think .

A stumbling block may have shown up

Nice timing -
Totally concur with the running dominance ... up until the red zone and within the 10 yard line. I wonder why we couldn't punch it in. Not being greedy here but thinking we could/should have scored 2 more touchdowns. Kicking FGs instead of TDs. Anyone else ?
