Their starting rotation, when healthy and firing on all cylinders, is the best in baseball. It will take phenomenal and timely clutch hitting to beat the Tigers - here's hoping we can pull it off. During the offseason, I would love to see us sign Scherzer or another top starter.

We need Steve Smith to think he's playing the Carolina Panthers every Sunday. He's a baller isn't he ?
-
Gotta get to their bullpen- early and often. We need many high scoring games. if we do, we have a shot.

Jacoby is still in "Dancing with the Stars" mode. I don't know if he's coming out of it anytime soon. In the meantime, lets see Brown and Aiken.

Ravens pound Carolina. Your thoughts TODAY
varaven45 replied to Tornado700's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Crav, Nice impressive win and Smith was on fire. Complete game all around, even our scary secondary came through, albeit against a relatively weak receiving corps. Our OL played extremely well and Joe was well, Bazooka Joe. Smith is a dang BEAST plus he got me 30 + points in fantasy yesterday. And the Os won yesterday to finish with 96 wins and 30 games over .500. Good day for B-more sports yesterday. Looking ahead; No more trap games - at least not Indy next Sunday where our secondary will be severely tested and our OL and Joe need to bring their A +++++++ game. -
I don't think we are dominant enough team to win easy games. Last week's grinder in Cleveland is probably this teams blueprint for winning all season. And with Pitta and Monroe out, Carolina poses a very formidable challenge. I look for another grind it out 2-3 point margin in the outcome. Your score looks spot on. Toss up on the victor.
-
Yep. Jeter is a classy individual and we are blessed to have watched him for almost 20 years. We may not see another like him again. For the Os, rest up in Toronto this weekend and get ready for Price, Scherzer and Verlander and the Tigers next week.

Bad OL = no running game = no passing game =crappy offense. Lets hope that crappy formula doesn't rear its head this season.

The WR corps is fine. It just needs a little more.... http://www.hulu.com/watch/536145.

Eugene Monroe Has Had Knee Surgery Today.....
varaven45 replied to rastaman831226's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Crav, not soon enough. Just kidding, lets see how this Hurst turns out. He may fill in very well and, upon Monroe's return, would give us added depth to the OL. Next man up ! -
Yeah but the As are in the fetal position today and look to be conceding the series. Bring on the Tigers !
-
We aren't catching the Angels. If I am Buck, I'm girding myself and the team for the Tigers and Price, Scherzer, Verlander and company. Go Os !!!!! .
-
Cleveland has always had an awesome fan base. And Cleveland is now starting to feel the love, starting with the LeBron James signing. The Indians are competitive and the Browns are becoming relevant. Its like a renaissance in Cleveland - good for them !
-
3 more games puts him in the OCT 19 game vs Atlanta. We sure as hell could use him against Matt Ryan, Julio Jones and Roddy White.
-
Any one know when the heck Hill is eligible to play? Someone who can actually cover and tackle is desperately needed in our secondary. Anyone have a hunch, a gut feeing ?
-
He might just, could just become our next hammer. Can you say "hammer time " ? !

Yes, the Cincinnati Bengals are the best team in football
varaven45 replied to Jungletiger's topic in Cincinnati Bengals
Through 3 games, the Bengals look like the best team in the AFC . But it's a long season and a lot can happen in 16 games . Still, they have the best talent and balance in the conference. The only legit question is whether Dalton can lead the troops during the playoffs. -
Well sort of. We had all our starters except Pearce and managed only hit tonight. It's no big deal if it's one night. We just don't want to take our foot completely off the gas pedal and limp into the playoffs against what looks like the Tigers or Royals. I am sure Buck will have em ready.
-
Well, judging from tonight's laid egg at NY, we aren't likely to catch LA. This team is unofficially in cruise control, well maybe sub cruise control. We might as well gird ourselves for Detroit or KC.

Max, after listening to him this afternoon I don't what else the man can do. He, the organization, NFL, Goodell all screwed up- all because of Rice's one time colossal gaffe. It's done, everyone just needs to move on and starting concentrating on the "damn game". Even Mike Ditka, a guest earlier today on Mike & Mike, opined that we, media, everyone has blown this thing way out of proportion. Its time for everyone to focus on what's good about the game and put this negative stuff to rest.

We need to win 5 out the last 7 and hope Angles get virtually swept by As and M's.
-
We needed to have drafted a solid WR and TE in this year's draft. This need has only intensified with the loss of Pitta and uncertainties with Torrey (although I think we find a way to sign him). Steve Smith is 35 and we will need another possession WR as well. I expect next year's FA and draft to largely focus on WR, TE, S and CB.
-
Crav, you are spot on. Our D tried to give it away. Notwithstanding the missed/blocked FG by Cundiff, imagine the outcome if the Browns had a healthy Jordan Cameron and Josh Gordon. Yep, we were extremely fortunate to have won that game. But a W is a W and I'll take good fortune over skill any time. btw- when is the NFL going to clear Will Hill to return ? He cant return soon enough.
-
It says our leader, organization and team are at a crossroads and a serious juncture - one that will define this franchise going forward. You can't blow this off and assume the team's on the field performance and organizational screwup are mutually exclusive. It leaves you with a very unsettling feeling about the future.

Okayyyyy. Let's touch base on Sunday.
