  1. Tucker playing D ? Sounds like a Bellichek move ?
  2. You called it Max. I totally blew my prediction today and figured we'd meltdown after last Sunday's loss to SD. Can't figure this team out but they are Dang interesting to watch
  3. It's interesting how Bama boasts great teams, year after year, and National Championships. Yet, for whatever reason, a disproportionate number of accomplished players in the NFL. (Yes, a few exceptions - Eddie Lacey, CJ Mosely) They've almost become the college football version of Duke basketball- many championships but a relatively small number of NBA players.
  4. Amen, Crav, esp on para 2.
  5. Yep. It stinks; I'm already looking forward to 2015, a good draft and an uneventful offseason. These .500 seasons, while not unexpected, are a drag and seemingly becoming the new norm. You would think the Biscuit and the Fact O have by now had enough of this mediocrity and looking up to the Bengals in the standings the past couple years. It's downright embarrassing and frustrating.
  6. Crav, he"lł open the wallet after all the good players are taken, then give Duquette free reins to sign whoever he wants. Buck's going to have mangage his arse off this year.
  7. I frankly think the SD game was do or die. I don't like the tea leaves I'm reading, nor do I see the planets aligning. I have 0 confidence on Sunday and see a 10-12 point loss. Too much off and on the field bad karma to overcome.
  8. Not being argumentative but this team has bigger concerns than Dean Pees - like keeping players on the field (from getting suspended), guys making plays, Ozzie and Co making solid draft picks, etc. Just saying .
  9. I'm with Maxie. No Ngata = No good. Fins by 10, say 27-17 or 23-13.
  10. If the report is totally accurate, the Ngata story is the perfect capper to a disappointing season - on and (mostly) off the field - and underscores the team's lack of veteran leadership. I am sure all NFL teams have a plethora of similar issues but this team has been snake bitten this year. The team is in need of some serious soul searching and rebuilding of character & leadership. Its starts at the top and some changes are needed.....soon.
  11. I don't think they do. It appears we lucked out last year w/the Cruz signing and are now acquiescing to our normal PA protocol - letting the good guys who play like an O (Markakis) go then signing the leftovers (Morse). As much as I detest the Bosox and their spending, I at least respect their pursuit of FA talent and commitment to winning.
  12. Well put, especially on last remark.
  13. Crappy organizational move. His absence this coming season may not be obvious or apparent but his leadership on the field and in the clubhouse will be sorely missed and won't be be replaced. We getting rid of the entire pitching staff next ?
  14. Yep. Was that a Harbs or Kubes call ? It's hard to understand how this team can run up and down the field, only to meltdown in the red zone.
  15. Max, I felt the same way after we "settled" for the FG right after Jacoby's return. If we score a TD or just get 1 more 1st down then it would have been game over. That seems to have summed up the season so far.
  16. Agreed. Notwithstanding last night's performance, I think Miami is playing better and they are at home, Plus, I think we be will playing with a "hangover" from the SD game. Just a hunch. I only see 1, possibly 2 wins, left this season.
  17. Yep, and if we were playing in a best ball golf tourney, we used up all our mulligans, including our last one with SD on Sunday.
  18. Its the paradox of the NFL
  19. Sundays game, for all practical purposes, is our playoff. Win, we are still in the hunt. Lose, stick a fork in us. If anything was gained from watching last night's snoozer in NY, its that you run the ball on the Dolphins D. As horrific as the Jets and Geno Smith were last night, they actually were winning most of the game and should have won but their PK Folk was having any part of it. Given Torrey's questionable status and Marlon Browns concussion, we need to follow the Jets blueprint and pound the crap out of the ball. Keep Tanneyhill on the sidelines and protect our horrific pass D. That is the only conceivable way we can win this game. Win, we are still in. Lose, were done and out.
  20. And amazingly we are 7th in the NFL in scoring defense which, given our run D (4th in the league), underscores the ineptitude of our pass defense.
  21. Yep. We were spoiled for several years with not just 1 but 2 HOFers on D. We may not ever see another 1, much less 2, on the same team. It's too bad we wasted that decade + of defensive excellence. Of course, we could get lucky and one may fall in our lap. The Mosley kid has a couple good qualities and may be something to build on.
  22. While we are it, we needed and still need toughness and leadership on the D. You can't overestimate the veteran leadership that is missing on our D, especially in our secondary. Guys like Ray and Reed would have somehow, some way willed the team to a W yesterday. I don't see a single player on D or O who provides that quality. This team sorely misses that.
  23. Yep, especially If the pieces include a shutdown corner, safety to complement Hill, younger pass rusher and a beast tight end. We do that and we'll be Allright.
  24. Yep. Finish finish finish.
  25. Well,. He better have the check book real handy cuz we ain't getting it done with the likes of Ryan Flaherty. And the other gumby arm hitters.
