And Mikey stirring up the hornets nest which he has such a penchant for doing.

What does it matter that a 3rd string QB is playing
varaven45 replied to papasmurfbell's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Max, Good points ! I scanned a few Tex message boards and they are pretty stoked about Keenum - he's definitely a fan fav. I would like to see the D blitz the crap out of this guy right from the get go and take him and the crowd out of the game. We don't want to let the Texans hang around or it will be a long, close game. -
Yes it should be. The Texans nearly upset the Colts in Indy with a banged up rookie QB. I would expect a 3 pt margin of victory.

Kinda like that blowout of Jax that ended up a nailbiter at home ?

Sounds like a PLAYA

It's utterly astounding we have won 9 games - which is the max win total I predicted this year. If we don't win a single more game this season, given the secondary losses, and the Rice debacle, it's been a helluva job by Harbaugh and the man deserves a lot of praise. -
Except Texans didn't have one yesterday and it took a 4th Q end of game pick by Indy to with a closely contested 17-10 Division clinching game in Indy. Like the Steelers/KC game, I expect a close dogfight between the Texans and the good guys

He "looks" like a player and has the body size, physicality of a NFL CB. But who in the heck is this guy, and moving forward, how does he figure into our secondary ? Is he starting opposite Webb ?
-
Next week's Texans tilt will be tougher than most think - we already saw what happened after sleeping on Jax. Given the Texans precarious QB situation but a very stout D and All world JJ Watt, the game plan should be: 1. On offense, pound the dang ball and keep JJ Watt in run D mode. We need to return to our run game after yesterdays lack luster performance. 2. On D, prepare for an extreme dose of Foster and Blue. Texans QB Savage isn't going to chucking the ball all over the field. 3. Get the lead, pin our ears back, and send the wolves - Suggs, Elvis, TJ - all game.
-
Which is why you can't sleep on A N Y team in the NFL. We did, at home, no less and it almost cost us. Still, a W is a W and we don't get points for style. 9-5 and still in the hunt .

Will do !

Still, dont you think an 8-5 team is beating a 5-8 team, even in their house.

Not hating just opining like the rest and what I've been doing on this board the past 10 years. Sometimes right; sometimes wrong but what I think which is what I love about this board.

I don't see us winning the division- too many games we have pooped away and will bite us in the arse - Cincy twice and SD 2 weeks ago. 3 coulda shouldas is too much to make up to win the divisoon.
-
Crav, Atlanta aint beating Pitt without Julio Jones. He's pretty dinged up and doubt he's playing.

I wonder if we're looking at one of those mini surgical procedures for Tori and he's out for two or three weeks. Sounds suspicious to me.

Yep, Gregg was a good player and overachiever. As I recall, wasn't he the guy that landed on Jamal in the pre-season, ending his 2001 campaign and exacerbating our Elvis Grbac led season ?

2015 is looking like "go west young man" !

How is it, after the Os win the AL East and the Bosox win the AL cellar, all the ESPN talking heads, media do nothing but ramble and salivate over the Bosox off-season and their challenges ? Just this morning ESPN spent almost 5 minutes lamenting about the Bosox starting pitching woes and their difficulties in reaching the post-season. Who gives a damn about the last place Bosox, their overpaid and /or overweight FA's and their exorbitant payroll ? . How about the defending AL East Champ O's, Buck Showalter, and their prospects for returning to the playoffs ? Why isn't anyone talking about what they going to do in the offseason, besides losing Cruz & Markakis ? I totally get ESPN is in Bristol Conn, Boston has big market, Baltimore has medium market, but the overwhelmingly blatant bias towards the Bosox and Yanks is downright sickening. I have been an O's fan since the 60s and have never quite understood such a huge (and getter larger) disparity in the media and fan base between the Os and the $$$ teams. Anyone have a rational, reasonable, unbiased answer or reason ?

Dang Crav, spring training is only a couple months out, huh ? I need to check that out some spring while visiting my 'bro in New Smyrna Beach.

How about the other doobie bros with the squealers; getting off the hook, too ?
-
Good stuff uh I mean crap. Speaking of crap, whatever came of the NFL's decision on the Squealers former backfield - aka the Doobie Brothers - Blount and Bell- and the marijuana charges from last summer ? Weren't they both going to receive 1 game suspensions ? Any one know ?

A class act and rarity in todays sports. Thank you Nick !

Perhaps but he is a human being.

I read somewhere (can't find link) where the Rice ordeal really affected Torrey. Apparently, the two shared much in common and endured similar hardships (raised w/o Father). I could be off base but thought I read about. It makes some sense as I've noticed a drop off in Torey's tenacity and passion this year.
