  1. Steelers run defense isn't very good in it's own right. The Giants are a poor comparison as the Bengals just wiped the floor with them. Ray Rice is going to have a big day.
  2. The Ravens haven't given up a rushing TD in 2 games. They have given up the least amount of rushing TDs and total TDs overall. Somehow I think we'll be ok. One dimensional teams will not beat us unless the craziness of any given Sunday happens. They just won't.
  3. The past two weeks the defense has improved considerably. Pees himself has attributed it to the change from the sideline to the booth. He said with the young pups on defense they just can't relay to him what's happening on the field. He needs to see it happening. Since then we've really grown as a defense. We will be harder and harder to stop as Suggs gets more and more healthy. It also appears that Upshaw is gaining some confidence.
  4. No he's not really that much better. Dixon could run and make plays with his feet. Bmore struggles against those QBs. Ben is an example. The statues, we usually Tee off against them.
  5. This game won't be close without Ben. I'm not talking smack, I'm just saying, without Ben the Steelers are a very flawed team. Ben, despite my personal feelings towards him for his off the field BS, is an ELITE QB. He's been keeping an average team afloat with some impressive passing out of an offensive system that I did not think he could be successful in. I guess that's why I'm not an NFL coach haha. If Ben comes back for the 2nd set it will be a much different game. Our pass rush is starting to gather some momentum, Lefty isn't much more mobile than a statue of Abraham Lincoln. The Steelers can run the ball. Our run defense has also improved. I don't think we're "good" against the run, I think we're just good enough not to lose a game to a one dimensional team.
  6. Lefty can chuck the ball, but his windup and delivery take about 3 and a half minutes. There is a reason he's a backup. No mobility, slow delivery, and poor decision maker. As they say on Fox or ESPN, or whatever it is, CMON MAN. lol
  7. Glad to hear everything went well Max.
  8. This Steelers team is not going to compete this year. We will destroy their playoff chances with the next three games. It just won't be their year.
  9. Exactly Crav and Palmer wasn't the one giving up 55. Palmer has actually thrown pretty well this year.
  10. It's not going to matter when they play us. They are not ready for this team. They're just not.
  11. This defense will continue to get better. Kruger, Suggs, and Upshaw were getting pressure on Carson. We did this without Smith at CB or Ngata at DT. Very well done. Obviously offensively we were off the hook. Those are the types of looks that Joe will get when the defense is worried about Ray.
  12. Look, Cowher was a HC for what 10 years before he got a title? In those years the Steelers were always good. I'll take that. I want success and constant playoff appearances. That's how coaches get championships. Let's be clear, Barry Switzer is exactly what you're talking about. We were not consistently successful before Harbaugh got here. Billick would do well when we had a weak schedule and he would do awful when the schedule got tougher the following year. Championships are always the goal, but they take time and patience. How long did it take Vermeil? Belichek is the exception to the rule, not the rule. Even Parcells who most people consider a football genius didn't win a Super Bowl after the 80s. His teams were always competitive however. Dungy is another example of a guy that took awhile to win one. Harbaugh is an awesome coach and what he's done is not an accident or somone else's doing. We weren't getting to championship games before Harbaugh. For christ sake.
  13. Even if he is just keeping his friends around, his results are outstanding. That still doesn't answer why we would get rid of someone that is having sustained success.
  14. Suggs is going to start drawing double teams soon. Once that happens he is going to open it up for the other guys. We had guys step up last year cuz Suggs demanded so much attention. It will happen again. We are not going to finish highly ranked but this defense will be good by the end of the year.
  15. Why would we boot a HC that has a team in the playoffs for four consecutive years and is currently working on five. Someone needs a helmet and a padded room.
  16. I dont buy that the defense cant get much better. Not for one second. Suggs is the man and Upshaw is coming around. We still have Reed making plays too.
  17. Que Suggs. Our pass rush is going to consistently improve as the season wears on. We do need a healthier Ngata as well. However with Upshaw getting in better shape I expect things to get better and better.
  18. Absolutely, put pressure on a QB and suddenly the CBs are covering much better. And Williams has 4 INTs. He's not playing that poorly. There's just a total lack of pass rush. Suggs will not only affect the CBs with shorter coverage periods, he's going to allow others like Kruger etc to get 1 on 1s to the QB.
  19. My take.....Suggs is only going to get better and better. This team is going to be very different on defense in December when Suggs is starting to feel almost 100%. That's going to change things folks.
  20. That Cleveland defense is pretty good. They've been keeping games close all year. However....I think the constant 3 and outs is Cam's stubbornness. He just doesn't want to change game plans or adapt to what defenses are throwing at him. I like the return to the run game. That's going to equal success.
  21. Cam......if you build it (offensive game plan).....he will run...and run....and run....and run. And.....people will come Ray. People will come.
  22. I think that if we return to the running game we will be very successful. It's awfully tough to beat this team when we're running the ball well.
  23. He took a team that was expected to be in the basement with a rookie QB to the AFC championship game. The next 3 years the team went to the playoffs each year winning a playoff game each year. They won the division and obtained a #2 seed. They were one dropped pass from the Super Bowl. Yeah you're right, he's definitely a pussy and hasn't accomplished anything. Me....I'll wait for Harbaugh because he's done nothing but succeed.
  24. We didn't have Suggs in the first meeting. Suggs is going to be a factor in our success as the season wears on. I agree that a W is a W. However I think we can hand Cleveland their Asses if we run the ball and throw play action. We will get there.
