Also Dickson and Pitta are not around. Plays may not stall out with tham around. It is preseason but you have too look at where things go right and wrong and why. The final score makes little difference but keys to the regular season are there.

The OL was better than against Atl but they also had moments they looked bad. RR was being met in the backfield again. I agree with the rest.

Baltimore Ravens: Lions vs. Ravens Game Recap
papasmurfbell replied to ExtremeRavens's topic in News Feeds
My eval All in all I think they looked better last night than against the Falcons. Joe had the offense moving. Also RR looked ok. He was able to make the OL look better. The Falcons have no depth and teh Ravens backups came storming back on them. The Lions are deep and held them off. In the 1st possesion the OL had some really nice holes and kept Joe clean. Had Pitta or Dickson been in I think the O may not have stalled so much. Also great punt and downing the ball inside the 5. Megatron was a man among boys out there. He was amazing. I did see a nice tackle for a loss. Pollard needs to watch the high QB hits. Rlewis had a great play on coverage stopping the catch. Reed had a great tackle on Johnson. Kruger had a great almost pick. He looked good against the run. Williams and 37 had reel poor coverage on Megatron at one point. If you have enough weapons you can effectively flood the Ravens zones. They did get tricked really bad on a screen. The 2nd team OL was letting the Lions in really easily. I liked what Taylor did all in all. He stood in there and hit strikes when he was able to throw. When the OL failed he was off and picked up good yds most of the time. He did havea poor throw behind Leach. 86 screwed him on a bad drop that would have been a 1st down. Allen had a great catch and later a poor drop. The 2nd D was getting hacked up. Special teams was up and down. They downed t he ball in inside the 5 on a punt early. They also had some good kickoff coverage. Thompson had a real nice return that Kindle screwed up with a penalty.Asa Jackson also had a great return that a flag killed. 42 gave up block that allowed the defender in to block the punt. Amazing onside kick with Omar Brown getting the ball after Thompson batted it away from the Lions. Joe looked very good. RR was very solid. LaQuan was very good. He did have a bad drop though and needs to catch with his hands. Do not let Webb return punts. Jones had an amazing reverse. Peirce looked good. He had nifty mooves on poor blocking. One play was negated on stupid penalty. Taylor was up and down but with that poor OL I think it was pretty good. Rainey had a great stiffarm and nifty move for a big first down. The Ravens run D gave up long run but got the fumble and Omar Brown was there to scoop it up. asa Jackson stoned a RB who was allowed to run free. Painter looked good with quick throws but threw a bad pick. Almost picke a few plays before that. -
That is rediculous.

Damn just looked. He is 230. He doesn't look it on TV. He looks at least 15 pounds lighter. The OL in time will be good but for season 1 I am not seeing it.

Redman is not the pounder that you want for that 3 yds offense. I like the kid. But I would not ride him to the promise land in that kind of pounding.
-
Exactly. That is why I think they will not make 8-8. I am leaning on 6 wins right now.
-
I think more important is Arians being fired. The team was built for his wide open offense. Now they want 3 yds and a cloud of dust. But the problem is they have smaller RB's and a heavy on WR's. They have also had a weak OL for a while and are rebuilding it. That takes time. As for Hines he hasn't beenthat guy for about 2 yrs. It has been the young guys lately.
-
I saw it on FB. I figured you would like it. Just saw that they lost.
-
Also there are a lot of nagging injuries this yr. I thik it is because they aren't allowed to practice and be ready for the season.
-
They wont do it because they are used to it and other teams aren't. It is part of home field advatage.
-
Except they had a lot of change.
-
They have personnel to run Arian's offense. It is going to take some time to change over. 8-8 might be a tad high.
-
But guys who could not make it in the NBA are playing in the NFL. Gates, Gonz, and Graham off the top of my head. Add in TO and and Moss at WR and you have a lot of talent.
-
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
-
Every stadium has their own kooky things. Really they need turf in Pennsyltucky. That field is totally crap by mid october.
-
That more than anything is why I think younge guys struggle early in the NFL.
-
Yeah. Like I have said when I have looked at great kickers it is usually about 3 yrs before they are about automatic.
-
The Ravens have needed this for a long time
papasmurfbell replied to papasmurfbell's topic in Baltimore Ravens
I never expected him to be the guy this yr. Others have. -
Housh wasn't even a rookie. I believe that was his 3rd yr at that point. He was the kickoff guy with Stover on Matt's last yr. Now Housh is kicking well. It atkes a couple of yrs for these guys to click.
