  1. With a new chef in the kitchen, the recipe changed. Drafting by the Peter (HARBS) Principle - every employee to rise in the hierarchy through promotion until they reach the levels of their respective incompetence. We drop back in the draft to red star performers that will perform up to their level, not the higher level of those drafted before them. Nice group of fall-in-line special teamers. The dog house is also reserved for those who think outside the box. Number two pick this year was doing well until rebuked and pre-season practice time diminished.
  2. Maybe the coach can swallow his ego and hire Reed as secondary coach, teach them film study and backfield responsibilities. Not a bad guy on the sidelines either for in-game assists.
  3. I am a Flacco fan. He has been more than a serviceable QB and provided the third best multi year QB play in Baltimore. Unitas and Jones before him. I believe Ray's comments were addressed to the passion of Joe, ie. not having the passion of being a student of the game. Ray and Ed spent plenty of special additional time with film and intense study of their position and that of the team to become better, eventually the best at what they do, inspiring those around them. Joe just does not have that "passion" in him to elevate his play far beyond the very good level he plays every Sunday.
  4. He has his faults, as more than only an elite few don't, but Flacco has been what more than 15-20 teams do not have. In fact, the Ravens have not had as an effective quarterback as Flacco in their history, given his record. His statistics are not as important as wins, much like players in the 2000 Defense, leave personal acclamation aside for the sake of a team win.
  5. I can see trading back 1 spot to #7 with 49'ers assuring #6 to them to draft a QB, thus obtaining another spot in later rounds. Phil Savage when with the Clowns worked this on us when we wanted Ngata.
  6. Oz has not been perfect, no one can be...misses in the first two rounds are not good. Outstanding/productive draftees on the present roster include: C Davis J Flacco T Jernigan S Koch C Mosley K Osemele J Smith T Suggs C Upshaw J Urschel L Webb M Yanda B Williams D Pitta Other recent notable non-whiffs include: T Smith McPhee Ngata A Jones B Grubbs J Brown Taliafero
  7. Who can be hired as DC at this time of the year and have an effective, if not immediate difference?
