I expected them to take a backup RB. Once upon a time when Rice was drafted, the thinking was that they needed 2 RBs. Well, with Allen and Barry completely unknown and Rice wanting unrealistic money, they had to prepare for the future. The question is if Pierce is a complement or a replacement for Rice. His injury history scares me a bit though.

This is the range Ozzie said he would start making moves +/- 10 spots from their draft spot. Don't see them trading up yet, but can't rule it out.

I don't see a RB being instrumental in winning a SB. Just look at the recent SB champs. How many game changing plays by a running back did those entail to win the game? The way the rules are structured these days (particulary pass defense) running backs are overrated.

I don't see them drafting an OC or OG that can't also play OT in the first round. The value just isn't there, particulary not when they are zone blocking. Think about it, Grubbs was a 1st round pick, a starter for most of his time here and they still let him walk away after his rookie contract. In the first round, they are either going to draft someone with special physical skills (like Ngata) or off the charts intangibles (Lewis). I just don't see either with Konz.

He will be cut and maybe resigned later. They are not gonna pay 1,9 million dollars for a backup LB.

I have no idea, most bizarre story so far for the Ravens this offseason.

I just remember something like that when two years ago, Jared Odrick was being discussed as a Ravens pick. Just for fun, I did look up players drafted from Penn State over the years. The Ravens have drafted 2, both in 1997. Kim Herring and Wally Richardson. I can't say I even remember Wally Richardson.

Penn State DL, don't they usually turn out to be terrible once they get to the NFL? I could see that second round pick 2 happening, but Burflict in the third? No.
