  1. I dunno, Max. The Chiefs have played a lot of tough teams this year especially early on. But, I get your enthusiasm and I'm with you. I'm just saying if they go 11-5 that is a damned good season in the NFL.
  2. Good day for us, sucky day in Cleveland and Indianapolis. Thought we would win but wtf happened to the Browns and Colts? Anyway, win next week and we're in. Will probably be one and done but with this league, this year, anything can happen with the possible exception of the Chiefs losing. If we win next week, you have to call it a good year in the face of great adversity regardless of what happens in the playoffs.
  3. Giants defense will keep it tight but I think the Giants offense has just as much trouble scoring as their defense has success preventing it.
  4. That's a possibility, Max, but I don't think 11-5 won't get them in. The Steelers play the Colts in Pitt and the Dolphins play the Bills too. I don't think we'll know until the last day of the season but if we win out I still think we'll be in. Now it could very well be another one and done so let's keep expectations low.
  5. So far Jaguars have been able to contain Jackson’s running. But passing game is looking pretty good. And r then we have Dobbins having a good day.
  6. Dobbins and Queen are hot today. Whole team looks like they’re having fun today.
  7. Good for Boykin. Would love to see him get hot..
  8. Gonna be tough. The offense may need to have a big day to help out the defense.
  9. Just another example of social media conspiracy theories.
  10. Yep...that's the thing, here. Lamar is a high-quality playmaker and they don't grow on trees in the NFL. We'll have to pony up.
  11. Maybe we shoulda let them leave 160 years ago.
  12. This game makes the top 10 in all Baltimore football games that I've seen going back to '58!
  13. I watched the whole thing---from Cleveland no less. That was a wild romp of a rollercoaster game. I'd have to put it into just a handful of games of Baltimore (Colts and Ravens) football games that will go down in my personal history. Lamar coming out of the tunnel on 4th and 5 to throw a 44yd TD strike to Brown after Brown had been dropping passes all night. Tucker's 55 yard field goal. Even the final play where the Browns played rugby and finally stepped out of their own end zone for a safety to conclude the night. You can't make this stuff up and have it be believable. Just a great f**king game!!! Like Max I'm getting too old for this but as Chuck used to say: "Ain't the beer cold and go to war Miss Agnes!"
  14. I agree that if they can contain Chubs they might have a chance especially if Baker starts to self-destruct throwing the ball. I don't think those two things are probable though. I find I have a lot emotionally invested in getting the Ravens a win. Man, I would love to see that happen and us win out. That would redeem an otherwise lost season.
  15. I think the Ravens are going to continue to be a little disorganized. Covid has ravaged the Ravens and I can't believe they can sufficiently practice in just 6 days against a red-hot Browns team. If this game was happening a week or two later I think it would be a competitive game but with the ways things have gone for the Ravens I believe they will be hard pressed to win. Brownies 31 our guys 17.
  16. I agree. And this is just as big a game for them as it is for us.
  17. I think our identity is probably power football and a determined defense. That's what we'd like to be. The team has been hurt by Covid and injuries but, truthfully wasn't playing all that well before those things happened. Face of the franchise is Lamar. Few on the team have played as well as last year and boy do we miss Yanda. We've got to concentrate on improving the offense and particularly, but not exclusively, the O-line this off season.
  18. A pointed quote and one worth thinking about. Is Lamar limited by Roman's play calling or is Roman's play calling limited by Lamar's abilities? Looking at history, it appears a Gregg Roman offense comes out smokin' the first year or two and then peters out. See his history in SFO, Buffalo, and here. Is he incapable of making adjustments? Or, is Lamar limiting what Roman calls offensively? What do you guys think?
  19. Interesting...but we have so many guys hurting or out at the moment, Campbell was obviously playing hurt and it affected his play. What will Chubb do to our tattered defensive line? And who is going to pressure Mayfield? I guess time will tell. No doubt though that the Browns game is the biggest of the season for us.
  20. I don't think all the rust will be gone by Monday, unfortunately. And the Browns are playing almost up to their level of talent. It will be a very hard game for us to win and I, for one, would be more than pleasantly surprised if we did so. Right now I think the Browns are the second best team in the AFC. Maybe it's because I've been stuck in Cleveland for 3 weeks. Side note: Cleveland has the gloomiest weather I have ever experienced! Instead of forecasting 'mostly cloudy' they should say 'mostly gloomy'!
  21. I was just thinking. Things are getting so out of hand here that I feel like it's all a bad dream. But it's not and every outrageous thing that happens is followed by one even more so. I'm glad the military here stated officially it's staying out of any political situation.
  22. Crap, Max...now you've got me fired up!
