Fangio can go fu*k himself!
-
With all the crap that has hit this team on injuries, I fully expected them to be 1-3 not 3-1. They have found a way to win each game and almost beat the undefeated Raiders. Lamar has grown as a quarterback. I think he's starting to think pass first, run second. That'll be good for his longevity. Still, though, he's taken too many hits and that has to be much reduced. All in all a great opening quarter to the season! I have really enjoyed watching this team. Oh, also, kudos to the coaching!

Lamar & Co. showed they can get it done even when they stuff the box. There was real progress today. Now time to stack wins like this as Harbs said tonight.
-
If he's gonna run he's got to do more to protect himself. Like Tsyl says: no more taking a shot to get one more yard. And, like you said Max, those hits add up.

I'm just glad to have him back in the fold. Hopefully, he gets a call-up.

Ravens re-signed RB McCrary to PS today.

This is one we were lucky to have but I figure it helps balance out all the damn injuries this team has had. We were ripe for a break and Tucker is the one who's hard work and dedication made it possible. Yes I did think it would be close. The Lions new coach will have them winning soon. He doesn't tolerate a down attitude just because they play in Detroit. Reminds me a bit of Lombardi. 66 1/2 yards! Just wow!!
-
I agree with you on the McCrary move. Sign him now and let Bell go.
-
Yep! That’s how I see it too.

I have to agree that I just don't see this defense getting a worthy pass rush from the from this line. Ever. The linebackers are still young and need more experience. The secondary, which has in the past covered up for a lack of pass rush is hurting. Oweh and Madabuike are bright spots and Humphrey and Averett are playing well but you lost Peters and we lack a pass rush to make up for that and vice versa. This team will have to win by rushing the ball on offense and keeping the D off the field. It didn't work so well in week 1 but did work last night. Only the Ravens could win a 'shootout' with a rushing offense. And damn if they didn't do it.

Just a really thrilling and satisfying win! We beat these guys finally with a bunch of reserves and a bad start by Lamar. You couldn't write a script this good. Thanks to Max and his daughter!!!

Football is important to us Max but family is way more important. California is just in bad shape and won't be getting better anytime soon. We have family out there also and spent our last visit with them being evacuated because of fires and no power.

Nice comment by Harbs...guess head coaches can go on IR as well as their players???
-
I think the adjectives 'demoralizing' and 'catastrophic' are more in line.

Good post, Tsyl. Agree with most of what you said. I think the following sunk the Ravens last night: 1) O-line is a disaster. Did they rush Stanley back? And if they hadn't who else was there to start?? Nobody. 2) Villanueva ought to do the honorable thing and retire. He's made enough money and shown us Nothing. 3) Still, as bad as the offense was at times, the defense lost the game for us. 27 shoulda been enough to beat down the Raiders. 4) Hold off on bringing up the dump truck for Lamar's next contract. Wasn't all his fault by any means but the fumbles were sickening. 5) What happens to Proche in games? Did he even play last night? 6) I don't think the Raiders are all that good. I hope I'm wrong on that and they play lights out the rest of the year but how many times did they shoot themselves in the foot in an effort to give us the game? And wasn't that nice of us to return the favors? 7) Somebody puh-leeze can the ESPN broadcasting team. That's all I can say right now. When I re-live the game, it makes me sick all over again.
-
Well, I haven't heard it or read it since Lamar freshened up the team.
-
Holy crap! I'm getting fired up too! Lets go beat these bastards and here's hoping the team is in the same mood!!

Schematics can be left to the assistants and coordinator. What the major factor here is team psyche and he's always been a good salesman.

Gee! Mike Preston (??) to the rescue: https://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/analysis/preston/bs-sp-mike-preston-ravens-fans-dont-panic-20210909-jqqbbasucrb4nmg7lhhrmyfpde-story.html

They won't fear the wreckage of our running game so they'll drop more guys into pass coverage. Look for a lot of Raiders dropping into coverage. So sickening this happened. Still, if there's 2 guys who can pull this out it's probably Lamar and Harbs.
-
Well, that's nice that he's confident but confidence can't prevent injuries. We need a legitimate 3rd back and Bell is not the answer. If Edwards goes down, we're toast.
-
It would have been nice if Jimmy Irsay had taken Model's offer of $1 million to give us the naming rights of Colts but alas it didn't happen. So far as retiring the name, the NFL missed that boat when they agreed to the move to Indy. And, I have to admit, the Cleveland fans fought harder and better than us in keeping their naming rights.

I'm surprised out of my shoes on this one. Shoot, take a chance on a younger guy, dammit!
