  1. Under what conditions can you pull him off then? In any case I'd rather see him on the 53.
  2. The next game will determine where he goes from here. I think he was just amped up in making his debut there.
  3. What is the minimum IR stay, 6 or 8 weeks?
  4. I tend to agree with the McSorley school of thinking on this one...at the very least until RG can show he's up to game speed. Funny how all this has worked out.
  5. I think it is a depth decision more than anything else. The question is, is he healthy enough to really contribute?
  6. That's how I see it too.
  7. Agree about keeping Trace. He’s got talent and is showing the ability to grow.. Good leadership too though not yet in the same class as Lamar. IMO they have a solid number two in him and maybe an eventual number one if Lamar’s body doesn’t hold up.
  8. Boykin looks he will get good YAC. He did have a drop later.
  9. Lamar usually passes inside the numbers but I did see him make 2 nice intermediate throws outside of them. And, yes, I wouldn't play Brown yet either. Well, if they really think he's ready, maybe one series...
  10. Yup...this hurts. Tavon was just coming in to his own. We have the depth to fill his position but no one as good as he was.
  11. Hard to get a good evaluation of the D with Rodgers out. Our Running game looks to be very good. I like the RB rotation they’ve got. Agree that Lamar was uneven. Receivers effort was there but they were uneven too. McSorely looks decent. His performance was a plus. They have to be able to pass more outside the numbers.

No doubt. The defense is going to continue to need the Offense to pull their weight more than before but, so far, I'm encouraged. Might know a bit more after they a quarter against the Pack tonight which will also have regulars on the field for a while.
  13. It doesn't sound like a move DaCosta would make. I hope... https://russellstreetreport.com/2019/08/14/lombardis-way/jadeveon-clowney/

The biggest things we lost were 2 high level defensive leaders in Weddle and Suggs and that does hurt quite a bit. That aspect also relates to chemistry which is more important in football then, say, baseball. Their physical talents are replaceable. We'll have to see if new defensive leaders appear. Aaron Rodgers will supply a big test for this Ravens' defense. They won't be facing a better QB than him all preseason.

    Regarding Thursday,,,from today's Sun: https://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/bs-sp-fb-packers-rodgers-20190814-ljbnlkkxqrfztnch3gwnnlrdve-story.html

Some reporters like what they've seen... https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/late-for-work-8-14-analyst-predicts-ravens-are-ready-to-make-a-huge-leap-in-2019 So I guess based on who's reporting, it will be either a disaster or a playoff game. Thursday should be a good test as both the Ravens and Packers aim for their regulars to play about a quarter or so I've read. We also need to keep injuries to a minimum

While there are questions, Suggs and Weddle are at the nadir of their careers. Smith did a great job but I think the most talented guy on defense is: Martindale. I think he's got enough ammo and, more importantly, his brains to keep the D as effective as they'll need to be. Plus, I'm thinking the offense finally has enough potential playmakers to allow the defense some breathing space. They don't have to carry the team any more. I'm not predicting another playoff run but it's possible and this is probably going to be the most exciting team we've had since the Flacco-Boldin playoff offense in 2012. It should be really entertaining to just watch this team play this year.
  18. No need to rush Brown back and I'm glad to see they're being cautious with him. If he plays a series or a little more in preseason game 3 and comes out healthy I'll be happy. I think the practice time with Lamar is what's most important with him at this point.
  19. Man, keep the good news rolling in!
  20. I find this theory to be very implausible. Too much risk, too little reward. i know if I owned the team I'd never have done it.
  21. They did sit a bunch...but we didn't have a few on offense play either. We probably won't get a more accurate read until the season starts. I was impressed by our team speed on both offense or defense and the effort put out, especially since it was a preseason game. I have to say our coaching approach is doing a good job---so far.
  22. Right on with all the comments in all the above posts. Lamar's a leader and has that 'it' factor Ray was talking about. He gets teammates to believe in him and, even better, believe in themselves. Max, noticed your shout out to Saunders. It's been well deserved!
  23. Well, he had a pretty good rookie year if I remember and we're in pretty bad shape at LG now. Chances are they still might have gotten a 7th round conditional after one more week of practice. I do believe though that it's better to get something, even a 7th rounder, rather than nothing. I just think the front office could have handled this a little better. Maybe I'm spoiled by all the good moves they've made in the off-season.
