  1. More from Preston: "There has been plenty of talk within the organization about Jackson getting a new contract, but the Ravens need to be careful and this deal has to be structured where a lot of money isn’t guaranteed until Jackson can prove this offense won’t fall asleep in the playoffs." I agree with this. We should know by January, the end of the regular season, if Lamar has 'it' on the outside throws. If he has learned it, they should be able to make a real playoff run. Well, as Preston also says, they need some type of pass rush that scares opposing offenses too and right now they haven't got that either. I've been a big defender of Lamar for the first two years and kind of feel that I'm 'piling on' here, but lets give these questions this coming season and see what happens before we give him the big contract.
  2. Agree with Papa on this one. The Ravens go in as a wildcard this year. The Steelers begin their journey to become the Stumblebums.
  3. Yup...one thing we don't have to worry about is Lamar's motivation and leadership.
  4. Here's a deep dive into Lamar's passing stats. I thought he did well but there is room for improvement as we all know. The data has some video clips too in way of explanation: https://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/bs-sp-ravens-film-study-lamar-jackson-throws-20210722-kn7j22gfpzearph4vfbtsxkga4-story.html?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Baltimore Ravens Insider&utm_content=1971626974424&smtrctid=#nws=true
  5. I think it's more Greg Roman than talent supply. The guy is a run game genius but I'm not sure how much he cares about being ranked so low in the passing statistics.
  6. Thanks, Tsyl! And I'll feel even better when I see him report for camp.
  7. I'm only worried about Stanley...no news on him since November.
  8. All of them! No, seriously...Chiefs, Steelers, Browns at a minimum. And congrats!
  9. I agree with it being too early to throw in the towel. He's rehabbed through a lot of pain. Give him another chance.
  10. lots of good reading provided by Mikey: https://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/analysis/preston/bs-prem-sp-preston-ravens-offseason-things-to-watch-20210619-u7uhhq5kbve4xf3d64ijcjlgai-story.html
  11. not worried about when Cleveland signs...some guys don't sign until just before camp starts in late July. Line does look good on paper but Max, you're right, it takes time for an offensive line to move in sync.
  12. I predict they'll be on the list next time.
  13. Some upside notes, for the most part, from Mikey: https://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/analysis/preston/bs-prem-sp-ravens-preston-observations-june8-20210609-rqwh2x77njbqrppdl3bcglih2m-story.html
  14. Yep, we're lucky to have him. Was it Billick or him they offered the head coaching job to second after they were turned down by Jason Garrett who went to the Cowboys?
  15. If they can get some edge pressure on passers they have a great shot to win it all.
  16. Agree all the way. I don't know who's going to be putting relentless pressure on qbs. I don't see a player here. The rest of the defense is really good.
  17. That's good news for Lamar and many others.
  18. Lamar looks buffed up real well.
  19. Thanks for posting that, Max. Every year I try to find those dates and it was nice to come here and see them posted.
  20. Eisenberg Nails It: https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/eisenberg-ravens-have-put-the-pieces-around-lamar-jackson
  21. You know you've had a really crappy passing offense when settling for mediocrity is a definite plus. Now is the problem the receivers, schemes, or Lamar?
  22. This was a 'must do' action by the Ravens. If Stanley comes back healthy, the line will be plenty good enough now with a lot of potential.
  23. No Center or OT drafted or signed in FA. The line doesn't look good to me. And they really didn't address with any certainty the edge rusher and DL depth they need. We rolled the dice on the first two picks. They can either show that they can play right away or kiss them goodbye. My grade for the Ravens draft is a C-. I sure hope I'm wrong but this draft left me feeling empty.
