Yes, they played bad football, especially our 1st string offense. The defense was sub par also. Now is the time to iron out the kinks and I am confident that Coach harbaugh will get that job done. No need to panic.
I don't know how many of you guys are PSL season ticket holders. I am and feel like the NFL totally screwed all of us by having both home exhibition games on Thursday night. Personally, I like to sell mine because I want to watch the games on TV to really evaluate the new guys. But nobody wants to go, even at 1/2 price a ticket because they all have to get up early to go to work the next morning. The fans are the back bone of the NFL- we pay the salaries of these guys. You would think that the NFL would at least put one of them on a Friday or Saturday night since we are the world champs. It's just total crap- thank you for the props NFL! I was just wondering if it was me or if you guys feel the same way.
Bottom line: Does Dallas Clark make this offense better with the loss of Pitta? Absolutely. Does Stokely make this offense better without Anquan? Absolutely. I am very happy with these signings.
Why is it a bad move? Without Boldin and Pitta, et al, Brandon Stokely, although not the best receiver in football, does make this team a little bit better. Not worse. He'll make a positive difference this year. I am sure of it.
The Ravens have a long tradition of not hiring through desperation. If they didn't think Brandon still had some gas in the tank, they would've passed on him. The Denver game showed me that Stokely can still play a mean slot receiver.
Yes, we dodged a bullet. They should rest B.P. through the entire exhibition season. Start him nice and fresh for Denver. We will definitely need to count on him until they get this passing game figured out.
Without specifics, I found 2 things that are very apparent. 1.) This starting defense is going to be crazy good. (Sort of like their 1st series) 2.) Our back ups just might be the best in the league. My only concern: Our passing game. But, I am certain that will come around as they play into October. Other then that, great job all the way around.
I just want to really watch our 2cnd and 3rd stringers up close and personal. I want to see what they can do. Who makes it and who doesn't. I agree with OS, Flacco and Co. should see at least one full series.
