  1. I know. And it's ok to post it. I've been pissed and let down by Joe and John and said so. Right now...fickle fan that I am....I really like both of them. Who's to say the Ravens might have been 5-11 teams without John. And Ozzie? He just might have built another Super Bowl roster over the last 2 years. With the CAP issues...all the injuries to key players....they still came up short by 1 play at the end of both seasons. It's a Fail yet it tells me something.
  2. What total garbage. But that's what papa does...dumpster dive.
  3. I'm leaning towards a very good defense. I have my doubts about the linebackers and safety's coverage skills. A big IF is the O line. "IF" the are decent or adequate then I see this team having a very good chance at making the playoffs. The schedule: I love it. Nothing but good, solid competition. Iron sharpens Iron. IF the Ravens make they playoffs, then they will have developed into a very good team...yes...dangerous in the playoffs. It's too early to predict records for me. I'll stay in the "Show Me" mode. 9-7. Show Me that they know how to find ways to win instead of finding ways to lose. Show Me they can beat teams with winning records. Show Me they can win in the Division. Show Me they can defeat playoff caliber teams. Now that said...I believe in this 2018 Team.

  5. Really fun night at the game. Beautiful summer evening. Stadium upgrades are great. The new scoreboard is impressive with live updates from around the league. Also the food prices are much more fane friendly. $20 bought us a lot. The Joe and Lamar show was very encouraging. The disappointment was the Rams did not play their starters so I'm taking Prestons advice and drinking diet Purple Kool Aid. Yet Joe was very sharp and in one series hit multiple receivers leading the opening drive to Ricards TD. Lamar put some sick moves on the Rams on his TD run. Moore made a spectacular catch and Perriman shinned albeit against 3rd stringers. Williams was awesome. !2 1st downs to 1 for the Ravens in the first quarter. rams 5 yards in 1st quarter Running off to work now....little sleep, but I'm sick of being a responsible adult all the time... once in a while being irresponsible is ok.
  6. The Rams are a very good team, deep in talent and according to many writers a legit Super Bowl contender. They will be a great measuring stick for the Ravens to see if they have improved and are moving forward to being a better team than last years squad. We have heard all the positive camp reports and of course I want to hear that and buy into that. I'm a fan. Yet after following this game all my life I also know better. All around the NFL fans are gushing about their teams...because reality hasn't struck. And I know this is a meaningless preseason game. It doesn't count. It will be forgotten. Most of them are boring. What draws me is Competition. That isn't meaningless to me. I don't care if it's our slappies Baltimore Slappies, competing against some other cities slappies. They are Our Slappies!...in a sense. Baltimores! Go kick some ass! BTW...I'm an old...gulp...Baltimore Colts fan. The Rams had some great teams back in the day and the Balitmore Colts/Rams games were slug fests. Anybody remember Merlin Olsen? So how will this years Ravens perform against a very good Rams team? Iron sharpens iron right? The Rams have an excellent D line and secondary. The Ravens receivers have to show that they can get open and make plays. Doing it against the Ravens D day in and out is one thing. They are used to each other. Doing it against the Rams is a whole different level. The Ravens O line will be missing Yanda and could get pushed around tonight and wreck any chance for the passing game to take flight. Joe won't have time to throw. Will the Ravens be able to run? Will the linebackers be able to cover? The Ravens are looking for a punt returner. Tucker's another one to watch. He's been missing some kicks in camp. Yea...everyday it seems like one. So I have a Tucker watch. I want to be able to comfortably leave my seat to go to the bathroom as he trots out onto the field. It should be a level playing field as this is basically game 1 of the preseason and everything is a work in progress for both teams. With out game planing and playing vanilla, basic football, this will come down to who has the best overall talent. Who's talent has developed the best? Both teams will emerge with a better awareness of the areas that they need to improve There's a ton of Ravens players who I'm interested in watching...known and unknown. Will this be a sloppy, ugly 10-3 game? I'm kind of tired of playing ugly. I'll be looking for some hope, some improvement over last years roster. Not looking forward to work tomorrow on little sleep.
  7. Looks like there are 2 more concerns that carry over from last year. The linebackers struggle in coverage and my confidence in Weddle and Jefferson in their coverage skills is low. The good news is that it's beginning to look like the front 7 are getting consistent pressure of the QB which hides a lot of sins. We'll have a better evaluation tomorrow night. The Rams are fast with a lot of offensive weapons.
  8. They wasted a 4th round pick.... Com'm mannnn......
  9. They have Mosley in the conversation too. I think Ozzie should get in as a GM. Art definitely belongs there.
  10. Incredible. Inspiring. Beautiful. https://www.baltimoreravens.com/video/ray-lewis-full-pro-football-hall-of-fame-speech-old
  11. At the moment, with very little evidence because of how early everything is, the running game concerns me the most. The back ups runners Thursday night didn't show anything. Dixon can't be counted on. That leaves Collins and Allen. Both were solid last year. The backups on the O line Thursday night were not fundamentally sound and completely out of sync. They lost most match ups. So the hope is that the return of Lewis and Yanda brings back the stability and cohesiveness of the line. Maybe Brown helps with the road grading. Williams and Boyle will help too. Also, if the passing game improves, then that will set up the run by stopping teams from putting 8 in the box. They have 4 pre season games to come together as a unit. I would like to see a 50/50 run pass ratio this pre season because both elements need work and experience.
  12. No...what did he say?
  13. Good! I hope he plays Thursday night. Can't wait to get in my purple seat. It was a short while ago that I couldn't wait to get out of it. So far, this preseason/off season has been encouraging.
  14. He had 2 catch's for 19 yards, so he bounced back, yet that one pass that bounced off his hands and was intercepted is a game killer mistake. This was only the 2nd pre season game that he has played in during his whole career. I know that I'm stretching it here, but let's see how he does during the next 4 games. Maybe he get's it together. Which would be cool.
  15. The guys on the radio, 1057thefan, said the laughing was going on before the pick.
  16. He reeked havoc on that offense.

  18. This is coming from a coach who is 1-31. He's hoping to God that Mayfield will save him. I like Mayfield. He could be good. Nevertheless it's one week into camp. They need to win a regular season game first. They won all of their preseason games last year and then, lost when it counted. The Browns roster has improved yet they have a long way to go.
  19. That's one big, unsubstantiated lie.
  20. They won't be able to get rid of the 2018 Super Bowl MVP.
  21. That was really good. I enjoyed watching this guys reactions. All of us have reacted like that. And seeing the stadium and fellow Ravens fans has me pumped up to be there this season.
  22. Suggs will bring the swagger to the mike and makes a great face for the franchise. He is the poster child for "Play like a Raven." Joe's the silent leader, but he's tough. He's going all out this camp and making phenomenal plays. He's leading by example and 1 big reason the team has confidence going into this season. Brandon Williams is a close 3rd. Got to love the guy.
