  1. Oh you're hurting me with this thread. Getting honest is not easy...damn! A lot is going to come down to the offensive line performance. Right now, it's not possible to say that unit will be able to run block or pass protect. Stanley, Lewis, Urschel, Yanda and Hurst. I'm not feeling it. Joe will lead the league in 3 yard completions. How can that line create any running lanes for an average group of running backs? They can't power through anything. Right now my prediction for the run game is: Dismal. That means 2nd and long, 3rd and long and..... Joe? Joe's in a world of hurt. All he'll have is Woodhead out of the backfield and Joe's no Tom Brady. D's will have their ears pinned back and DC's will be loving life. It will be like an off week preparing for the Ravens O. Because I have no faith in Mornhinweg. I have no doubt the pass rush will be better this year, because it was non existent last year. The D and special teams will be solid. As far as riding out this season. I think it's going to be a fun ride. If we're to have any hope, then here's the first clue. If during the pre season games the Ravens 2's and 3's can dominate against their opponents 2's and 3's, then that means they have solid depth. Out of the solid depth will come replacements who will upgrade the weak spots. We'll have plenty to watch. Beat the Bengals week one and look out!
  2. $39! That's like catching a cab. Do you fly Hack Airlines?
  3. Yea! What a game! Buck loaded the line up with hitters and eventually it paid off. World Series in May?
  4. Swept the White Sox and now comes the real test against Walgreens which is a team on fire.
  5. These speculation on bringing in 30 year old Blount.... Jamison wants the Ravens to go back to Old School football. And he's right. They haven't been able to win or make the playoffs without the running game. Dixon really hurt this team by getting suspended. Asshole.
  6. Bundy is off to a hot start and that bodes well for this season. Mancini homers. Everybody is contributing and O's remain on a roll. Let's get the sweep from the White Sox today.

    Duty to Warn

The US has had quite a few incompetent presidents and survived them. We have another.

  10. All solid questions oldno82. On offense the Ravens have too much to prove before I can call this a legit playoff- contender. I do think the offense will be better than last years 21st scoring offense. All I hear on Flacco is good. Motivated, running sprints, working out real hard....I think Joe is on a mission. But what about those around Joe? We won't know about this line until game 4 and they are the key to success or failure. Same for the running game and receivers. Will Greg Roman make a difference in the running game and team commitment to run? Let's count on Parity to make this season real interesting.
  11. After this draft I can see the Ravens going 10-6. I'm getting psyched about the defense.

    Round 3

    just saying....
  13. Ya...I totally get it about the draft. Drafting all those D players wasn't intentional but it may be a blessing in disguise. I'm not saying this defense will be as good as or close to the 2000 D. But it will be very good. Top 5. The offense won't be like the 2000 offense. They will be better. Special Teams will be just as good as 2000. Winning margin of victory could be similar to 2000. With the talent the Ravens have the winning formula should be the same as they used in 2000. Where my doubts are is that I don't think Mornhinweg can develop and use a running game. Get the offensive pieces next year. That could be their year since the O line and D will have this year to grow and develop. They are headed in the right direction. Still a middle of the pack team for now.
  14. Way to go Stan! Last year was real hard to watch but great defense, staying in games with a chance to win isn't.

    Round 3

Hey....here's some good praise on Williams....
  16. They have a great opportunity. The Ravens are hurting at that position.

  18. Every year for every team.
  19. I'm with you on all points. I think this defense will be fun to watch as they develop over the next 2 years. It's been a long time since we've seen exciting interceptions, lots of sacks and a stifling D. they should be good this year with the potential to be great next year. The offense? I have low expectations for them until they can get some playmakers, a real OC and an experienced O line.
  20. Oh! I forgot we have one more thing on our side. Parity. It's a watered down league. Most teams have ?marks all over the place too. Injuries change things fast. Key players get older and suddenly perceived strengths are weaknesses.
  21. This average team had way too many needs heading into this offseason. All of us know what they are. What goes with that is they can't solve all of their issues in one offseason. So basically they went defense because that's the way the cards fell. The offensive weapons were gone when the Ravens name was called. Dummerville and Orr are gone. Suggs may be done. Jerrnigan and Guy are gone. We know what shape the secondary was in. This defense was poised to collapse and fall apart. We'd all be filing out of the stadium by halftime. As of this morning most of the defensive holes have been plugged. They are younger and faster. They drafted sound technicians who fly to the ball. Maybe they can get off the field on 3rd down. So...the Ravens should field 2 solid units this year: defense and special teams. That's 2/3rds of the winning formula. In a way it's like 1999. They were one more offseason, draft and free agency period away from being a very solid team. We've lived through that and the way you do it is to enjoy what you have and watch the team develop. This 2017 Ravens team is right where the '98, and '99 teams were. What they have to learn how to do is; win the games they should win against lesser teams. The jets game last year killed them. same for Redskins game. beat teams with winning records. beat teams within their division and conference. beat playoff caliber teams. And most importantly...find ways to win. They have done none of that recently. If you want to keep score this year, then keep score on that. It will tell you if they are getting better and becoming closer to a playoff caliber team. Right now they are not. But I am hopefull this morning because I know defense and special teams will keep them in the game. And on offense? I don't know. It's going to take a miracle. Players like Moore and Perriman have to become playmakers over night, and rarely have I seen that happen. You are usually who you are or what you have shown. Joe has to play like Aaron Rodgers or Brady and make his receivers look good. Make average Joe's above average. The running game??? O Line????? All ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Mornhinweg ???????????????????????????? We might have to pull a Scarlett O'Hara here and worry about it tomorrow.
  22. rm52 on assignment... How about this one. Right outside the lobby...
