Oh...and let me add... It was really, really hard to sit in M&T Bank stadium last year and watch this team fail. Play flat. Really hard. I sure as shit want to see serious help on the O line and at receiver. Get a playmaker! Anybody! at any position! because it's contagious..

I get it. I've been hearing it all day on the radio. Ravens fans see a 60 second video of a player that they know nothing about, read critiques from writers who know nothing more that we do, and we head out into the streets weeping and moaning. I saw almost every Alabama game this year and Humphrey is a baller. Everybody has an excuse for forgetting about the Ravens secondary the last few seasons because so many players have played there and either failed or got injured. So we can't remember the names because their appearance was so brief and uneventful, except that anybody and everybody torched this secondary. And we can't remember how bad it gets when Jimmy Smith goes down with an injury. The Ravens need good talent at this position. They desperately need depth. If a team does not have a good secondary in today's pass happy NFL then they will not go anywhere. Humphrey has serious strengths and he's only 20 years old. He loves the game, races to the ball, covers very tight, seriously disrupts receivers running their routes (and that will check any speed burner in the NFL), he plays the run, blitzes well and he wants to be in on every tackle. Teams can't run to his side. 60 minute man. Give him a break. He's a Raven now. One of our own. Show him some love. It takes 1-2 years in the NFL for CB's to blossom. Look at McAllister or Starks. I can put up weaknesses and question marks about every player drafted before him. Get a very strong defense. In this age of parity that will take you a long way. Finally!!!! The Ravens have 3 solid shots tonight to add more playmakers to the roster. They've only picked one guy. They are not done.

I'm good with that. Now the Ravens have a good shot at beating any team in the NFL. We don't have to sit and watch the slow death Ravens strangle in the 4th quarter. But I get your point. Losing 16-10 to the Potomac Drainage Basin Indigenous Persons is part of the definition of "Impotent."

Humphry does one thing well, better than any CB in the draft, and something the Ravens CB's can't do. He lines up on the WR at the LOS and disrupts the receiver. he delays and knocks them off their route which is huge in this dink and dunk league. He's not lining up 10 yards back which is standard MO for the Ravens secondary. As far as going over the top on him? That's why the safety position was invented and the Ravens are set there. Oh...he can tackle. Very well. That will set one edge of the field.

6'0" HEIGHT 32 1/4" ARM LENGTH 197LBS. WEIGHT 8 3/4" HANDS OVERVIEW Although his father, Bobby, was a star running back in Tuscaloosa, Marlon was not solely a legacy pickup. He was a national All-American pick out of the famed Hoover High program, as well as a state champion sprinter and hurdler. Nick Saban redshirted him in 2014 due to the team's depth in the secondary, a luxury possible for no other team in the country. Humphrey started all 15 games the following year, earning Freshman All-SEC notice (45 tackles, 3.5 for loss, three INT, eight PBU) for the national champs. He again locked down a starting spot in 2016, intercepting two passes and breaking up five others. While he didn't earn all-conference honors, his toughness in coverage throughout the season intrigued scouts. ANALYSIS STRENGTHS Has the body type and athletic traits that are out of central casting. Fluid hips and hard-charging makeup speed. Well-versed in a variety of coverages. Plays with disciplined eyes and good balance between high-low responsibilities in zone. Good short-area acceleration to close out receivers and attack throwing lanes. Reactive athleticism helps erase coverage mistakes. Extremely competitive with an edge that spikes after he's beaten. Timid receivers should take the day off. Aggressive from press with a powerful punch. Looks to intimidate when the opportunity arises. Drives receivers out of bounds and out of the play if their vertical release takes them too close to the boundary. Will not let a blocking receiver punk him. Tears through blocker and attacks downhill. Searches for opportunities to strip the ball; forced three fumbles in 2016. WEAKNESSES Impatient from press coverage. Opens inside or outside too early rather than waiting for a clear declare from receiver. Struggles to stay in phase throughout the route and allows separation opportunities. Feet are fast but sloppy. Footwork becomes bulky and balance diminishes when matched against quality route workers. Plays a scrambling style of coverage that is too reliant upon his athletic gifts. Issues playing the deep ball are a concern. From off coverage, overreacts to route fakes and opens the door to a big play. Allowed more than 19 yards per completion as a starter. Can be slow to locate the ball and finds himself out of optimal position to play the ball. DRAFT PROJECTION Round 1 SOURCES TELL US "There are some things on tape that really worry you. If he has trouble playing the long ball it is going to be bombs away against him and his team might have to change how they cover because of that. Those issues usually don't go away." -- Scouting director for AFC team NFL COMPARISON Jimmy Smith BOTTOM LINE Talented height-weight-speed prospect who comes from NFL bloodlines. Might need time for his technique to catch up with his traits. Coverage inconsistencies could cause him to struggle against quality competition early on, but his mental makeup and recovery talent should help him pull through. Has the instincts and run-support skills to become an early starter for a zone-cover defense, but it will be hard for teams looking for a lockdown, man corner to pass on all of those physical gifts early in the draft.

Yea...3 QB's and 2 RB's drafted already. That helps the Ravens.

The NFL mobile app is a good tool for watching the draft. You can get stats, videos, team info.

Jamal Adams looks like a beast. The total package. Gone to the Yets.

I found this. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/juju-smith-schuster?id=2558149 Sounds like a round 4 guy to me.

The Ravens pick should be between 10 and 10:30. Probably closer to 10:30. I'm going to try to stay up but I've been working since 5 am and have to leave at 5 am in the morning. My guess is many fans won't be happy with this pick but the Ravens have a lot of needs and they all can't be filled by 1 first round selection. So I hope they get the Best Player available. Get a playmaker, and if it's a lineman, then get the next Yanda. The O line has to get way better or the Ravens will never be able to make a run. Maybe Lamp makes the difference. Hey...if Davis is there....that would be exciting, but then again, we'd never see them run the ball. Not as long as Mornhinweg is around. Get the CB is rounds 2-3. The draft is deep with these guys. I think the premier edge rushers will be gone...but the Ravens year 2 guys just might surprise. Linebacker....there are possibilities and needs here. Anyway....Go Ravens! I'm starting to feel optimistic about the upcoming season.

#16. Baltimore Ravens Pick: Corey Davis Position: WR School: Western Michigan The Ravens will likely target a receiver early in this draft, as Mike Wallace will be 31 next year and Steve Smith Sr. is now retired. Davis is a big target with sharp route-running skills that should enable him to play right away.

"Once again, Preston has us arguing!"

I like Mike. I had problems with him years ago but I find he's right on most of the time now. But then again, we see the same things. Once he strays from seeing things my way then the troll war can begin!

I'm loving the reports that keep coming in on the strength and conditioning program. This may get the team the 2-3 more wins they need. The game is won at the line of scrimmage and in the 4th quarter. How many 4th quarter meltdowns did we see?
-
Getting real tired of opening and closing with the Bengals. The upside is the Ravens will remember last years poor performance. I think they will sweep the Bengals this year. It will be hard to improve by 2 more wins this year and get to 10-6. But....you never know. It might all fall in place. The team might stay healthy and really get better game by game as the season progresses.

8-3 is a great start and who saw Mancini having such and impact and coming out of nowhere? Not me.

This is so tragic. In my mind, this is the most unthinkable and most unimaginable pain that a father and family can experience. I can't begin to fathom the hurt and remorse they are feeling. This is a heart breaker and soul crusher and they will need all the love and support that they can get. He's such a good, kind person and I'm sure his family is too.

They came back down to Earth yesterday. Nobody could throw strikes, bullpen was awful and the bats got silent late in the game. They're not a Sunday team. It's like an off day for them.

3-0 start to this season...great win last night coming from behind. ....Gausman struggling with control today.

Massive media love for an average QB.
