I don't remember Pricer but I remember "Long Gone' Dupree.

Yea......that was a flashback. Hey! Remember Don Nottingham "The Human Bowling Ball" and "Point-a-Minute" McCaulley? The only thing missing from this team the chemistry and identity that it will develop through camp and during the season. Although many key players have returned it is a different group of Ravens. A new team.

It's a very enjoyable read. Unless you are a 49'ers fan...

The Ravens lost a lot of talent and then they added a lot of talent. As early and premature as it is...I like this 2013 roster. Spears, Canty, Huff and Dumervil are settling in... Harbaugh gets criticized for being very demanding but his team will be nasty and physical. It's going to be Johns way. I like this report from players who have played elsewhere and now see the "Ravens way". It's a big part of the Winning Formula. Joe has bulked up (only 7 lbs) and reports on him are solid. I like how he stands up for his receivers and his positive outlook there. Rice, Leaks and Pierce are one great backfield. I think the O and D lines will win most battles in the trenches this year. Good to hear Dumervil say this... He had invested everything into Denver but he's not bitter. A lot depends on Webb's health and comeback but the signs are good. Jimmy Smith showed us a ton of grit during that final goal line stand of the Super Bowl. They thought he was the weak link and went after him. Crabtree's still talking to himself. I'm feeling good about how much of an impact he'll make. The Ravens have the kickers and special teamers to do damage. And John's opinion on the 2013 roster???? What do you expect him to say? That they are a bunch of fat slobs?!

Actually there are few Eagles coaches on the Ravens. None in key positions. John reaches back to his collegiate roots and gets guys from there.....also from networking with his Dad and brother. They've been pretty damn good. Good enough to take an injury decimated team to the Super Bowl. You have to have assistants who you will feel comfortable with through the extremely long coaching grind of an NFL season.

Getting a job in Baltimore City Government is a Thieves Paradise...

I don't know. Cam couldn't ruin him so he should be alright.

I don't know....the Ravens tank and go 4 and 12? I'll worry about that when it happens.

Here's where I'm coming from colin... Any team that wins a Super Bowl has a few plays during the season and the playoffs that help them advance that fans call 'lucky' or 'a fluke'. The truth is they made the play to advance and the other team didn't. These kinds of plays are rare so the tendency is to call them lucky. In reality it's just a football play that the opponent failed to defend. In the Denver game it was desperation time. Some rarely seen completed play had to happen or it was over for the Ravens. The line protected Joe, he bought time by stepping up and heaved the ball downfield. The throw was good enough that Jones was able to catch it and score. Jones was able to do this because the Broncos failed to properly defend him and let him get behind the secondary. When that happens in the NFL with a good QB it usually results in a score. What happened in Denver then becomes what always happens when a receiver gets behind the secondary. Touchdown! A normal NFL event given the conditions. The Ravens were not lucky to get to and win the Super Bowl. They played against the best that the NFL had to throw at them. It was an Epic playoff run. I agree Flacco is not worth the money but given the circumstances, I want Joe and if that is what it costs in todays NFL, then so be it.

Linta has had plenty of time to sugar coat and damage control his latest statement. He's a preening schmo....he was gloating and self promoting when he originally talked to USAToday. Yea....the Ravens should have signed him last August when his market value was lower....but maybe Joe doesn't explode and take it to the next level. So they'll restructure in 3 years.
-
Yea....Joe only threw 11 TD's in the playoffs. 3 of them in the Super Bowl. Yea.... He was lucky. We had it good before Flacco. Don't you just long for the 'good old days'?

No respect for the fans. No respect for the coaches, scouts and front office people who will have to work 3 more weeks. No respect. Except for the Almighty Dollar. Damn this really sucks!

Ravens working to fill leadership void, quiet time
vmax replied to papasmurfbell's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Wait till Suggs shows up. -
O's 6......2.

Boldin and Davis are all they can count on at the moment. Everybody else is coming off some kind of injury or surgery.
-
I was thinking the same thing. If Joe wants to be a leader, than make a statement and fire his ass.
-
...that "far a way" look".
-
Even if it's true you don't go public and gloat about it...It's just bad business to make fun of the hand that feeds you.
-
Well...I spoke to soon on Gausman....3-3....runners on 1st and 3rd...no outs. You could say he's "being tested".
-
Yardwork! Davis hits his 15th home run....3-0 O's up. Gausman pitching good so far....just 1 walk in 3 innings.
