Those stats are against playing only 2 teams with a winning record and that cannot be ignored. Sure they'll be good against weak competition. The fact of the matter is tht against that competition, the Bengals have a 21st ranked passing offense and 22nd ranked rushing. The defensive numbers are a smoke screen...they have faced only 1 offense ranked in the top 20. The line has protected Dalton well and his quick release certainly helps.

I'm definately pulling for the Bengals now after doing some math, looking at remaining schedules for AFC teams and factoring in my uncanny ability to accurately predict future outcomes unlike cravnravn. There's little wiggle room. The Ravens need to go 12-4 to win the AFC North. The Steelers will go 12-4...unless the Bengals win Sunday. That would create some wiggle room, but the Ravens would have to sweep the Bengals.

A tie would help the Ravens the most. I guess we should pull for a Bengal victory since the Ravens play the Bengals twice. The way I see it, the Steelers are the stronger team and have the best chance at winning the most games on their remaining schedule. It's almost a good thing that Ray Rice's opening play TD run was called back. The Ravens might have won by 20-25. This was way better than beating them again by 20+ points. To comeback and drive for the game winning TD with 2:40 left and the ball on their 9 in their house....that shocked and sent a message to the Steelers but more importantly it destroyed any psycological barrier this team may have had about getting over the Steeler hump. It is important. It says Joe kept looking for the best matchups and found them. Teams can only go so deep in good cover guys. Only so many linebackers can cover. When you have Ray Rice, Pita and Dixon that stresses the linebackers. Hell Joe hit Leach and Ricky too. Then they have a legit field stretcher in Smith and the whole field opens for Joe...and all his options. Smith, Pita, Dixon, Williams and Reed are getting valuable experience. They are growing into their roles and getting better, getting more confident, one game at a time. Since the Ravens are winning it's a blessing in disguise for the rookies and young guys that Evans is huirt. They have to step up and make plays which is the fastest way to develop. Sitting on the bench, weekly practice is not the same as gameday.
