On defense...and for what his leadership this week and on gameday did for the whole team: Ray Lewis. This was a 'Billick lions den' game and Ray came screaming in like a banshee. No fear. Not intimidated by all the hype and circumstances....just focused on delivering in your face punishment. Ray marked his turf. The team followed his lead. They played like 'Ravens'. On offense: Bouldin. He wasn't intimidated either. His leadership showed Joe and the offense 'Hey...we can make plays and throw on these guys!' He was not going to be pushed around by anybody. They believed. Coaching: Harbaugh. He had his team ready and at least for week 1, all the work he had them do to improve their game and cut down on penalties paid off. Big. They came out of training camp better.

There were brain farts all over the place. The Jets gave the game away with penalties and the Ravens tried to give it away with turnovers. Push. If the Jets don't grab the receivers, does Joe throw for 3 TD's? We'll never know. I do know Wilson and Cromartie were getting beat. In the end, the Ravens were the more disciplined team. In an evenly matched game, the team that executes the best generally wins.

We saw some ugly football. Now that's nothing new to Ravens fans, but the Ravens made the Jets look real ugly. They were primed to kill and they got beat up instead. 38 minutes of possesion does that. I saw something else that really excites me. Joe can't lose. Not with Boldin, Mason, TJ and Heap to throw too. Savy, smart, precise, great hands...way too many very solid weapons for any NFL defense to handle. "Hey! Pass Interference on this rookie!" Tonight he faced the best passing D in the NFL and had success. This is going to be a fun season. And the D! Granted the Jets offense is not like some of the offenses comming up ...but the D really showed up. Their backs were against the wall due to turnovers and poor field position and they did not break. 1-0...15 to go.

Got to get Yanda back to RG and Cousins or Gaither back at RT. This seriously drained the power of the O line. Cam had everybody he could find staying in and blocking. The line couldn't create any running lanes. Maybe not running in the pre season has them rusty. Give the Jet's D some credit...they are damn good against the run. Well...they weathered the Week 1 storm.

Yea...he only had 1 big catch but drew 3 penalties. That's moving the chains.

Success in the NFL is measured by wins. W's only. There are no stlye points...thankfully... After trying to help the Jets in the first half, the O kept their poise in the 2nd half...they had their backs against the wall. The Ravens had the ball for 38 minutes...that's domination...doesn't always equate to a win but the Jets D couldn't get off the field.

Give a game ball to Cromartie? Well....the Ravens are one game up on the Browns...

The weeks a whole lot better with a Ravens win. The O was great on 3rd down...11 of 19. The D looked very good tonight. They are the Kings Of Ugly Football.

It's all down hill from here. That's the best D the Ravens will face this year.
