  1. THURSDAY PRACTICE NOTES: WHEN SHOULD YOU WORRY ABOUT PERRIMAN'S INJURY? HARBs said if he's not in by the first pre-season game next Thursday. He's losing valuable time. HARBs defends Schaub. http://www.csnbaltimore.com/blog/ravens-talk/training-camp-what-watch-aug-6
  2. WED PRACTICE NOTES: Dooooooom returns as HARBs said he's good to go from an achilles injury. Will Hill continues to impress. Aiken impresses while gaining more reps with Perrimen down. Urban uses his strength well. Quote of the Day: “You watch film, and there’s no reason why the guy shouldn’t have been in the Pro Bowl last year.” – left tackle Eugene Monroe, talking about left guard Kelechi Osemele. THAT IS ALL. http://www.csnbaltimore.com/blog/ravens-talk/wednesday-practice-ravens-wr-continues-stand-out/
  3. They should have kept Wenning and cut Schaub. I never liked this signing. Ravens always had his number when he was young. Remember the game out there and Houston tied it up in regulation and everyone here is blowing his wad. Not long into OT, Schaub throws a TD to the wrong team. Ravens win. Jen Royale on the radio couldn't understand why the callers were so pissed after the win. Wally had to explain it to her. She didn't have a clue-lol.
  4. That's the prob of it not being at Westminster. Ravens bone head move of the Century. HARBs would have been pissed if offense hadn' scored. Looks like Trestman's offense has come as advertised. Defense will be ready when the gun sounds.
  5. Tweets from Sarah Ellison whom I think is taking over for Aaron Wilson who is covering Houston, Texans. Urschel and Robert Myers have concussions after butting heads. Maxx was poked in eye. Flacco is now used to not having Pitta around but dealing with what he has. Joe said he never missed a game for injury going back to high school. Webbie was embarrassed flunking the conditioning test as a team leader but former Ravens said it is the toughest conditioning test in NFL. You have to pace your self. If you go 100 mph in the beginning you'll never make it to the end. https://twitter.com/sgellison
  6. Yea, just like someone said, if HARBs said he just tweeked it, you know it's more serious. Gruden talked about one of Tuck's 60 yd FGs and said it's the speed of his hips and how fast he turns them on the kicks. You know how those soccer style FG kickers go. Its on how fast they turn the hips according to Gruden.
  7. Tucker booms 64 yard FG in practice on Monday. Would have tied an NFL record had it been a game. Tuck just shrugs it off.
  8. As soon as last season ended the front office was concerned about SR's age 36. That's old in football terms and Ravens need to pace him so he doesn't burn out early. SR thinks he's 26 the way he plays and goes at it 100% on every play. Trouble is, there's no experience behind him and Ravens have to develop someone like Mikie says.
  9. Twitter notes from MIkie Prestone. Aarons are on Houston Texans. Mikie was surprised as hell with Brady's suspension. Kraft needs to shut up and take the punishment. Mikie is unimpressed with Maxx and doesn't see how he is first strIng. CAVEAT: LAST ARTICLE BY EISENBERG SAID MAXX HAD HIS BEST PRACTICE YET AND MOVED HE CHAINS IN THE RED ZONE AS ADVERTIZED. Mikie is impressed with Nick Boyle, TE from Delaware and says he will surprise people. He's tough blocker, has good hands and can catch and might be the best blocking TE on team. Gilmore is way ahead of Maxx for 1st TE position. Suggs reports in better shape than the last camp - leaner and meaner as he still has that first step explosion. Ravens trying to talk Smith SR into taking less snaps but Ravens have to develop someone to pick up the part SR leaves. THAT IS ALL. https://twitter.com/search?src=typd&q=mike%20preston
  10. I still have us down for 10 or 11 wins, same as I said last year and the POs but not necessarily the div title. Ravens often play down to the opponent so it's possible to lose to one of the bad teams if they don't show up like last year in Houston. I would have been pissed spending all that money to go to the game and the fans want the win more than the team. Happens every year and it keeps us from getting the home field advantage in the POs.
  11. Here's the schedule and we could be 5-2 after 7 weeks. We start off vs Denver. I dunno. OAK is week 2. That should be a win. then it's Bengals Squeelers at Piss Browns We should beat Arizona Rams Jags. SF That's 6 wins vs Oak, Ariz, Jags, Rams, SF plus Browns. We really need to split with Piss which we usually do and with Cinci for the division title for 8 wins. We also play Miami and usually beat them for 9 wins. We play Seahawks. That's a loss. We play KC .That should be win # 10 and the POs. We play SD and that game is always tough. We lost last game there. We need an 11th win for the division title so we may have to beat Cleve twice. Not sure. Criticisms, thoughts?????
  12. Well, we discussed this in the other thread. Ravens have only 1 easy team in the first 5 games - OAK - and someone argued they werent so easy anymore but they still have the worse defense in the leauge while ours was 6th best and our offense was 12th best. With Trestman's offense having scored the most points in NFL last year it will be a top 10 O with a top 10 D. Cleveland will always be a tough out as they are improving. We're having trouble beating the Bengals lateley and there's always the Squeelers whom we beat 2 of 3 games last year including the wild card game up there for an historic win with a lineup deleted of its best players on defense and on the o-line where they had to start an undrafted rookie LT, another historic move. Peter King said in the article I posted on the other thread that Ravens will have to win 5 of 7 of their first 7 games for the AFCN. It's one of the toughest schedule in NFL starting in Denver another tough playoff team. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/gameday/season-schedule.html
  13. Ravens practiced at stadium in front of thousands. Doom and Perriman remained sideline. Elam scheduled for surgery on torn biceps. Will miss entire season. His replacement, Kendrick Lewis intercepted Flacco's pass on final drive. Perry intercepted Schaub's pass with the scrubs. Rookie class looked good in pads last night.
  14. It's official. Elams to miss entire season after surgery on torn biceps. No one is worried as Kendrick Lewis had big interception of Flacco pass on final drive at stadium yesterday. Lewis and Hill are the new safeties.
  15. The NFL Network is showing camps from every team as they go around the league so here's a couple of updates from enemy territory. The Bengals practices were down right terrible according to the announcer. Tons of mistakes by almost everyone especially the secondary and front 7 and of course the QB on offense but it's early in camp and that's why they're long. Then they showed the Squeelers camp. It's at a nice college in southwest Penn that looks a lot like Western MD College with the hills. They still seem to have secondary probs. Gilmore iced the wild card with a TD on a crossing pattern and ran by everyone down the sideline. Their top two receivers easily scored by running crisp routes from the red zone. Remember Heywood-Bey from Maryland. They signed him last year but he didn't impress but this year he is and scored vs that secondary. That's two easy scores in the only two plays I saw vs their secondary. They answered Perriman's huge size by drafting a 5'8 midget in the early rounds. ILMAO Bisciotti is pissed about playing in NE every year and he wants the home dates for the POs. Ravens gotta win the division and that's their goal. Bungals are flat but it's early in camp but Joe's been looking great while Dalton has not as far as I saw. Ravens have one of the most beautiful bldgs and training centers. A little small compared to the Jets new facility which cost them $75M and they have a mini stadium for their fans to see the practices on 4.5 fields. San Diego has a nice facility. It's a nice gorgeous low-rise building but 10 times a long as the Castle with a fence with fans leaning vs it to watch the practices with multiple fields. Giants have a huge new facility too and KC has a nice one, so does Cleveland. Art really hated leaving that complex. It still pissed me off Ravens stopped in Westminister. I went to every camp til they stopped it during the lockout. They held it in OM and kept it there but only a few PSL holders can go at a time. There weren't many fans at Squeelers camp while Ravens had 15,000 - 20,000 pr day at Westminister.
  16. Gilmore is a great blocker but remember, Nick Boyle might be the best blocking TE. Gilmore was the guy Ozzie drafted after they drafted 3 straight D guys and Kubes said I need blocking so Ozzie drafted Gilmore. He can catch too as he iced the wild card game with a TD in Pissburgh. Kubes has known Gilmore for years as he was college teammates on his sons team and he's from Houston and saw all Kubes games as head coach.. Maxx is more of a receiver than blocker at this stage, I think.
  17. Jernigan is disruptive. Well, it should be noted that KO and Yanda had the day off when this happened but he slaughtered Zuttah throwing him to the ground. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/News-And-Notes-82-Timmy-Jernigan-Disruptive/edf613cf-9284-4f85-a24f-d93ee9a3f638
  18. Great way to put it - if there is one player you don't mind losing. I think a lot of fans are down on Elam. Yea, it's all about depth. The past 2 drafts added so much depth. We were hot at most of the positions and Ozzie added depth to those in addition to adding guys we needed like Gilmore last year and Maxx this year. He drafted Jernigan which enabled him to trade Ngata for picks that got us the best TE in the draft this year. Then we got more depth for Ngata. Then Oz signed Arrington and then Kendrick Lewis so no one is upset when Elam goes down.
  19. From Aaron's tweets - not good. Perriman's knee is gonna take a little longer than team thought. Elam's injury was freakish after reporting to camp in great condition. HARBs really felt for the guy. Dooom won't return until he's 100% cured over his injury. SR blew by AsA Jackson for big catch. 20. A link was posted that Tally reported to camp lighter and quicker. The results posted above are showing already. That will be a great 1-2 punch with Buck bringing up the rear. Yanda won't get beaten like that again but I said a while back Jernigan would have sacked Brady on his last TD throw in NE if he hadn't slipped on wet field. He has that same first step that Suggs has. That's the difference - the first step where you blow by your blocker(s). Then on the way by Jernigan slapped his blocker in the back with just one hand and the guy falls flat on his face. He's closing in for the sack and slipped, damn it. We might have won but Jernigan is going to be a great one. What a great draft - Mosley and Jernigan and Tally too. All contributing and Campy is even having a great camp thus far running superior routes and making catches. Don't worry bout Maxx. He's very young and just had his first great practice moving the chains in the red zone. Another two great picks by Oz.
  21. Like I said, Kendrick is better than Elam. To start, he has more experience and snaps than any Raven defender except Suggs and only by 600 snaps. Kendrick has been playing several years. Don't forget, Brady's QB rating vs Elam was around 113 in NE. Lewis has a knack for finding the football. He has nine interceptions and five forced fumbles during his career, which are more forced turnovers than anyone else in Baltimore’s secondary. He also has two defensive touchdowns off those turnovers. The Ravens have sought a playmaker in the defensive backfield since the departure of future Hall of Famer Ed Reed two years ago, and Lewis has the potential to be a ball hawk on the back end. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/9-Things-To-Know-About-Kendrick-Lewis/3213cbba-459d-498b-853c-58a61bb6b210
  22. I thought Hill already had one of the positions locked up and Kendrick was fighting Elam for the second position. Will Hill is better than Elam. They're both better than Elam.
  23. Maybe this is Kendrick Lewis' ticket to first string. He's better anyway. He's had good mini camps and the other day he picked up a dropped ball and returned it for a TD.
  24. Kiper ranked him 15th best player in the country and Oz had him 17th. Perriman had good mini camps continued with good training camp. So far nobody in the Ravens secondary can cover him.
  25. After watching just one practice he declares Ravens SB contenders. That have a young wide receiver corps that have to mesh with Flacco but he believes they will. He likes the fact that Ravens have played NE 4 times in POs in Foxboro and won twice while outscoring them by 27 points. WoW, just WoW. They’ve met four times in the postseason. All four were in Foxboro. The Ravens won half, but cumulatively outscored the Patriots by 27 points. The two Baltimore losses were excruciatingly close, including last January’s divisional playoff game where the Ravens fumbled away two 14-point leads http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Late-For-Work-731-Peter-King-Declares-Ravens-Super-Bowl-Contenders/938ac0a6-a23a-4a22-8664-09791f747398
