  1. A team who has the habit to be beaten by teams like Bears, Raiders, KC and Browns against a team who has the habit to be beaten by Patsy, Clots, Queens and Cheeseheads. I take the last one.

Time for Flacco and Rice to dominate and take control.

Btw who is playing: Clayton, KW, Gaither, LJ, JJ, Gooden, Reed and Katula.. No reason to sit any of them now, either IR or play this game.

  2. The key to the season has been the redzone offense. Like dc said, when you hold teams like the Bengals and Colts under 20 points, your offense has to score touchdowns, not field goals, to win these games. When we have been successfull in the redzone (our first four games and our last two), we have dominated teams (take away the Pats loss). But when we try and trade field goals with touchdowns, you cannot expect to win. Same case this week, we need to score in the redzone to beat the Steelers, no field goals.

We just have to copy Bears, Raiders, KC and Browns, who obviously find a key to beat that team. Maybe Steelers has some problems when they are the favourite this year... So please let us be the underdog here.

Let us win the turnover battle first of all, then I think we will be fine.

Dating back to the 2000 season, the Ravens are 49-0 when posting at least a +2 turnover ratio.

  3. I like Ivy more than Walker and Carr, but I guess that is not saying much.

Me too. However time to find out if Carr can do the job, hopefully he is starting over Walker. Ivy has to be nickel, dime and ST only. And hopefully it ends here with injuries on CB.

  4. Ivy, Ivy, sigh! Well as Cb it would be no help at all. I would take a long shoot with KJ Gerard over Ivy as CB.

As I see it Carr would be the CB and Walker and Gerard our backups. Hopefully Carr can step up.

And then Ivy (or Tom Z if reed plays) could be our nickelback. At least he has the experience and commitment in doing that together with our people. Ivy have had some good games against Ben.. especially in 2006, last year was not that bad either, as long as he is the nickelback or dime! At least he knows how to sack Ben, so maybe we should just ask the little man to rush Ben all day.. And btw I loved all of his 3 sacks, reminds me about an angry bird on Bens back, head and shoulder.

  5. Heres a scenario that we cant have happen, We can win out, New England can go in the tank, which is possible..Miami wins the division and New England bumps us from the wildcard since they hold the tie breaker over us..

So we need to root like hell for the Patsies to whoop up on Buffalo tomorrow.

If Bills beat them, why not Jax and/or Tex too?

  6. Rice won the Steelers game for us. Other than that, all of our wins have been blowouts (save the Chargers). In our loses it was more Cam's fault for not running the ball then Rice not getting the yardage. And even then, it is not all completely Rice's fault, the line is to blame as well. But you are right, if there is one area Rice needs to improve upon, it is his short yardage/goaline running. He is very explosive, so he should get better.

You could say the same thing about guys like MJD and Chris Johnson, these guys are more gamebreakers then grinders. Chris Johnson leads the league in rushing, but his team has nine loses. MJD is kind of similar to Rice. Anyways, there is nothing wrong with Rice being spelled by a bigger back. There is a reason why we have a 265-yard fullback.

Agreed.. as for Rice winning the steelers game. Yeah and saved Harbs ass, should never have been that close.

  7. Benson is making the Pro Bowl, period. PFT reported today that he's still leading AFC running backs, with Johnson in second. MJD definitely deserves it more than Rice, and Jones probably does, too.

Not sure how you come to that result.

However I do have one problem with Rice, he is not really winning games, and in short third down and RZ not much of a factor, I am more comfortable with the Macs. I find it difficult to say that we would have won less games without Rice, in fact I have trouble finding one win we for sure would have lost without him.

And we are not winning TOP with Rice, he simply cheats! And reduce 10 plays, when needed to kill the clock, to one big play. And in 3 games he was somehow part in the losses, when we migth have finished the games better off with Mcgahee and mcClain. Vikes hard to blame him for that though, still the drive when he scores on the first possesion and we then lead.. it was a pretty good fieldposition and with 3 minutes left to Favre.. Last year it would have been a case for double mac, then the first Cincy game.. the drive after his first recieving TD! all we needed to do was to kill the clock and then the Colts game, same thing we just need to kill the clock and make the FG, obviously others to blame for that drive as well, still the Macs migth have been the better option.

  8. From what group have we seen the most impact?

From the current roster, we have 29 players who was active last year at the end.

The extra 24 comes from IR, FA and draft.

Nine from the roster was on IR: Burgess, Edwards, Gooden, Gregg, Harper, Landry, Talavou, D-Williams and Yanda

Ten from FA: Beck, Birk, Carr, Cundiff, Foxworth, Moll, LJ Smith, Tyree, K.Washington, Cary Williams

Five from draft/UDFA: Ellerbe, Gerard, Kruger, Oher and Webb

I think it is easy to say IR is the winner, even though I expected more from that group. Yanda, Gregg and Landry.. I do think they have been better with more games and Edwards has been the nice surprise from that group.. The last part of his 2007 season was probably his best period, And its like he has raise his level since that. Gooden and DW hmm.. I just need so much more from them! And I think Burgess has stepped up on ST.

The rookies takes second place. Its probably not a surprise that our late picks didnt work out, Philips IR, Drew PS and Pearman in detroit. Obviously we did expect a lot from Oher and less from Kruger and they have been just that. Ellerbe and Webb is by fare the most positive contributions.

Our FAs not that much.. I would say Birk has hardly been an upgrade, done his job, not so much the leader. Fox and Carr probably the same thing, did the job not been contributors. KW is the positive story of that group and LJ Smith the negative.

  9. Not sure why people want us to dump Gaither? Is it because of Oher, being a first rd pick and all this romance about Oliver Twist and a movie? Gaither is from Maryland, probably not helping him. Is he old? Nah two month older than the rookie Oher, one year younger than our first rd pick from 2008, mr Joe Cool, still he has more experience. Gaither, third year in this league at one of the most difficult positions and he is still only 23, 2-3 years younger than Cousins and Hale who has by far less experience, despite their better draft position.

Anyway I think people is crazy if they really believe Gaither would ever want to play RT for a minute, first of all, with his size and technique he is an obvious LT. Yeah next year we could force him to play RT, without of doubt he would take the money and leave us, and no blame from me.. That is I would blame the FO, both football and financially a wrong move.

Give Gaither his money, less than the typical LT money anyway.

  10. Why do we need to cheer for the Pats?

Great day so far though, Jax and Denver both down 14, we are up 10. Couldn't ask for more.

Pats has the tie breaker, and I think they had to beat Jax in the next week, so maybe better with them than Phins as divisional champs.

  11. Still have not find a good stream what is going on with this offense when we comes to RZ.. Rice for 1 yds and fumbles, penalties?

Btw are we now going to cheer for Pats? down by seven.
