The guide to dealing with Steeler Fans
thesteelhurtin replied to cravnravn's topic in Baltimore Ravens
That jag off didn't even put the number one Steeler of all time mean Joe on his poll. Head to head the Steelers win 22-15 the end. -
Ben makes at least 5 more season. Mcnair also did not have the skill Ben has.
-
. Oh yeah I forgot about him. Another thing yinz are forgetting about is the leaders you lost. I didn't think it would hurt the Steelers as bad as it did. The ravens kinda lost exactly what we did last year. We lost Ward(boldin) Farrior(Lewis) Aaron smith(reed). I'm only comparing them as leaders and not skill. You also have to throw birk in that category.
-
I think they will be last year was tough losing six games by 3 points or less. It was one of those season where if the ball bounced this way or that in certain situations it would have been a good season. You know the Steelers aren't going away for long.
-
Onto the ILB you have a guy who missed a year and a guy brand new to your scheme. Also it's the nfl injuries are bound to happen and imo your depth is lacking at ilb. I honestly think McClain retiring was the best thing for yinz you don't want that attitude in your lockerroom especially with no ray ray to straighten him out.

Huff was a great pick up dumervil as a pass rush specialist as well but he sruggles in the run. I'm just saying rookie safeties stuggle at times with the play action and pump fakes of the nfl. I think Elam will be good in the long run but he will have his struggles this year. Not many college abs can do the pump fake like the pros.

Oh god you're here lol. How ya been its been awhile since we have had it out. I couldn't take the robustness and constant trolling of the espn boards.

Lol

That is true woo hoo six months since the last steeler arrest. I'm sorry if I was making theoney these guys do I wouldn't leave the house until I was retired.

I completely agree with everything you just said I think we all get hung up on tags. I know I do more then I would like.

Still some free agents Ravens are “in love with”
thesteelhurtin replied to papasmurfbell's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Lloyd could be a good signing but you kind of have to throw any stats from the pats out. I know he is old but I can't believe Abraham is still out there. I think the best thing the ravens could do is bring leach back if you can get him for the right price. I don't know how the separation was but dude is a bulldozer inside the 5 and really opens things up for the rb. -
I'm glad to be back and yinz know you are glad to have me back. The off season just seems longer with no back and forth.
-
I gotta agree with colincac on this one.

Reed wasn't a defensive back? I thought he played SS/FS. Troy doesn't play corner and is ranked 12 spots higher. These are articles written by fans just like bleacher report. They are fun to read but I don't take them seriously I have troy and reed at around 5A and 5A1. It's to hard to say who was better because they play the game so differently but they both were the best at what they did.
-
If you want a good laugh go to the bottom and look at this guys top twenty list of dbs all time. It kills anything this guy has ever written. But if you want to go by this guy troy is the third best db ever and ed reed is 15th. Oops kinda shot yourself in the foot with this one crave.
-
I want to see what he is like this year. He changed his off season work out and went from not lifting over 20 pounds to actually training. Towards the end of last yearhe was looking like troy again. There was an article that stats he has been dealing with this calf issue for like 4 seasons now and that was his main focus this off season.

A couple of questions for you? Jamarcus Russell had a huge contract was he elite? How about McNabb or Vick? Albert Haynesworth must be the best dlinemen ever because he had the biggest contract. Great he has a super bowl mvp trophy so does Larry Allen a average at best corner. I sure don't consider Holmes an elite WR. Ok when Ben was piling up wins in the regular and post season it was a team stat now that Joe is doing it its a personal stat? I remember many battles with you on the soon to be dead espn board over that. If we are taking team stats into account Ben still destroys Joe when it comes to awards and achievements.

No there is a few good things to like about the Steelers this year. The defense is still solid don't let the age fool you. Jones or Worilds will be better then Harrison was last year and Woodley actually looks to be in shape. The defense wasn't the problem. Throw is a capable back up future starter at FS in Thomas and a another future starter in Williams at ilb. Don't forget Hawthorne from Illinois was highly rated as a corner and if he can stay healthy he has Steelers corner written all over him. This defense isn't as old as it looks on paper. Also throw in the beast in the middle of all that and watch out. McClendon is going to have a huge year this year. No he isn't Hampton he is not going to sit there and take up 3 holes but not move he is a pocket collapser. Your cut blocks aren't going to work on him he is too quick and I think he has been doing some sort of martial arts for his hand movements. The offense is young very young. The Steelers will start Brown, Sanders, and Wheaton at wr. None of those guys have Wallace's speed but unlike Wallace all three can line up at all three spots, run crisp routes, and catch the ball with their hands. Now if you read up on Brown he is a natural leader in the way he plays, trains, and lives his life so the wrs have their leader. The oline is young and has some question marks but the only real question is Gilbert at LT. Pouncey is clearly the leader there. Now onto the backfield. The Steelers FB Will Johnson is going to be better this year then last as he was a rookie changing from TE to FB. Bell was Mich St offense. No threat at qb or wr and his line sucked yet he produced week in and week out. That's why he is in the black and gold and not Lacy. Bell can catch out of the backfield and has the speed and moves to break a long one. Redman looks to be in the best shape since he arrived here stating he used all off-season to work on his speed. Ben is Ben and was rolling before the injury last year which was a freak injury. Let's not forget the addition of Larod Stephens-Howlings either. He brings a whole new element to this offense as well.

Been hearing how the Steelers are done since 04 you think these guys would learn.
