Injuries happen in training camp, that part is unavoidable.

But when they start piling up at certain positions, a bad situation becomes worse.

The Ravens, already without starting tight end Dennis Pitta for the season, watched replacement Ed Dickson leave practice early Sunday with a hamstring strain.

“Ed Dickson, his hamstring grabbed a little bit, so we pulled him out for precautionary reasons,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said, via Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun. “We’ll take a look at it and see how it looks.”

Even if it looks good, being without the top two names on your depth chart at any position is tough. For a team that figured to lean on its tight ends more after trading away wide receiver Anquan Boldin, getting Dickson healthy and finding him some help is key.

“We have enough tight ends through Thursday [against Tampa Bay], for sure,” Harbaugh said. “We’ll be fine, and then we’ll have to address it there depending on how we get out of that game.”

In other words: "Don't get hurt or you may be gone."
