They seem like the trendy, "flavor of the month" expert pick. Pete Prisco picks them every year trying hoping to look smart one of these years.

I saw a couple of their pre season games and there is no difference in Daltons arm. Their defense is definitely good.

5. The drought: Despite reaching the playoffs in three of the past four seasons, the Bengals have not won a playoff game since the 1990 season, the longest active drought in the NFL. Cincinnati is 0-6 all time on the road in the playoffs, tied with the Saints for the worst road record in NFL postseason history. Coach Marvin Lewis is 0-4 all time in the playoffs. The only coach with more postseason losses without a win is Jim Mora, who went 0-6 with the Saints and Colts.

0-4 in the playoffs. That means this coach can't get it done. I don't see how the experts pick them to make any noise. They don't know how to beat playoff caliber teams.

I think they are legit. I see them pushing the Ravens for the div until week 17 and going in a WC. I think they win a PO game this yr.

I still cant buy them, look what San Fran did to Green Bay week 1, the Bungles struggled in Green Bay and barely escaped..So no Im not buying into their winning so far.

Just as legit as the Ravens.

The best AFC team so far is the Broncos. That hopefully changes by the end of the year, but every other AFC .team needs significant improvement.

Ravens, Bengals, Chiefs, Texans, Colts, Dolphins and Patriots all seem to be in the hunt for playoff berths. So who is going to step up, we will see over the next few months. But the Bengals will be one on those teams.

Ten players who disappointed in season's first quarter

2. Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals

This was the season Dalton was supposed to lift his game to the next level. Instead, he seems like he's still the same guy he was as rookie -- a quarterback capable of making plays, but nobody's example of a franchise star to build around. Colleague Chris Wesseling put it best when he established After Dalton, or A.D., a quarterback scale in which Dalton sits exactly in the middle. Any player before Dalton is a viable franchise quarterback, any quarterback below him is a problem, not a solution. Dalton lives in quarterback purgatory.

We are in the same boat with flacco, AD doesnt put up the fancy fantasy numbers, but all hes done is put you all in the playoffs the past two seasons, Just like Joe has the past 5 years..

The media and fans spend too much time on QBR & fantasy points, when the only stat that matters is w's & l's..Folks think Romo is great caus he put up 5oo yards and tons of points, BUT HIS TEAM LOST

Well, I would be fine with that if I didn't see him with five and six seconds on a regular basis and he looks like he's pressured, and then do dumb stuff like throw a cross pass for a pick!
