I am super-skeptical of his WHIP though. He looks like a George Sherrill or the like - lots of baserunners, just getting out of it so far. While his overall numbers compare with Johnson - his WHIP last year was his career low at 1.2, which has been JJ's average on his career. JJ's 1.2 WHIP last year was his worst in the last 5 years. 2.5 / year is acceptable I suppose. But more proof we're not making a splash with the 10m JJ saved. Just filling the boat.
