ravinmaniac52 Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Was reading and they say a very good chance he does. ‘Excellent’ Chance Pitta Plays, But In Limited RoleAll signs point to tight end Dennis Pitta playing in his first game of the season against the Vikings. He’s received an increased workload in practice, seen a specialist in New York and word on the street is the he’ll play Sunday … just don’t expect a huge role for him.“I'm hearing there's an excellent chance he plays on a limited basis Sunday,” The Baltimore Sun’s Aaron Wilson said in an online fan chat. varaven45 Posted December 6, 2013 Author Posted December 6, 2013 It sounds like a "definite maybe" Quote
OutsideRzAcE Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 It stands to reason they want to use this game to get him re-acclimated so that he is as close to full strength as possible for our final 3 game gauntlet against 3 playoff teams Quote
thundercleetz Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Might be a good idea to play Pitta to get him into playing shape. The Seahawks brought back Harvin a few weeks ago from a serious hip injury. Harvin had to sit out the next week because of soreness. If Pitta is physically healthy, ease him in now so we can sit him next week if necessary to be ready for the Pats and Bengals down the stretch. Quote
tgann68 Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Play him ; he gets paid to play and we need redzone success. Quote
thundercleetz Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Seattle brought him back. My mistake, yes Seattle not the Vikings. Quote
cravnravn Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Bigger question, will Doom play this Sunday he hasn't practiced all week according to the Sun, Quote
papasmurfbell Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Not a huge loss with their passing game. Quote
ravinmaniac52 Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Bigger question, will Doom play this Sunday he hasn't practiced all week according to the Sun, Elvis Dumervil doubtful, will be a game-time Quote
ravinmaniac52 Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 You think the weather will make them set Pitta? Quote
papasmurfbell Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 AP is also hurt. This is a good chance for the kid to get some good starting time. Quote
tgann68 Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 You heard it here first; Pitta starts. Ravens win! Quote
papasmurfbell Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/12/07/ravens-add-dennis-pitta-to-roster/ Ravens adding Dennis Pitta to rosterDennis Pitta is back on the Ravens’ roster for the stretch run.According to NFL Network’s Albert Breer, the Ravens are adding Pitta to their active roster from injured reserve. Pitta has missed the first 12 regular-season games after suffering a broken and dislocated hip in July. The 28-year-old Pitta was the Ravens’ top receiving threat at tight end in 2012, catching 61 passes for 669 yards and seven touchdowns in regular-season play, then adding 14 receptions for 163 yards and three scores in the postseason as the Ravens went on to win Super Bowl XLVII.The return of Pitta could strengthen the Ravens’ passing game, which hasn’t been as sharp as it was a season ago.The Ravens (6-6) currently hold the AFC’s final playoff spot. They host the Vikings on Sunday in Baltimore. Quote
varaven45 Posted December 7, 2013 Author Posted December 7, 2013 http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/12/07/ravens-add-dennis-pitta-to-roster/ Nice ! Quote
tgann68 Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 If Pitta had played all year this team is 9-3 or 10-2.... His redzone presence is Atleast worth 4-5 points a game... Huge! Quote
papasmurfbell Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 I defiantly think they would have gotten to 9-3. He is so good at correcting for Joe. Quote
vmax Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 I'm with you on that. Pitta was a little "rusty today and still caught 6 passes for 48 yards and a TD.....in the snow and freezing rain. 1 Quote
tgann68 Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Pitta is why we traded Boldin... Without him it has been like NE not having Gronk (which they now don't) or New Orleans w/o Jimmy Graham. The TE is where it all begins and ends with our offense having him back is HUGE! He showed it yesterday and will only get better. Smith Pitta Jones M.Brown Stokely Doss are going to be hard to cover. If our OL can help a little and we can run this seasons arrow just pointed up. 1 Quote
varaven45 Posted December 9, 2013 Author Posted December 9, 2013 Huge IF on the OL which stinks. These failures to covert 2nd +1, 3rd +1, 4th and 1 are killers. Gotta fix it and quick. Detroit's up next. Quote
