vmax
He's a goner. Failed another drug test.... Eleven months ago, Browns receiver Josh Gordon was suspended for two games and fined for two more contests for violating the league's substance abuse policy. He's reportedly in even bigger trouble now.ESPN's T.J. Quinn and Don Van Natta report that Gordon could now be facing a year-long suspension after failing a drug test for marijuana months ago."That's something you're going to have to talk to [agent] Drew Rosenhaus about. I really don't know anything about it," Gordon told ESPN. "I'm going to have to find out about [a possible appeal] later. You need to call Drew."Then, Gordon hung up the phone. Rosenhaus told ESPN that the story wasn't true. According to the Cleveland.com and ESPN, the Browns have known about the failed test for two weeks. ravinmaniac52
I understand he should be and he might be but you have to wonder what is going to happen with the way laws are in 2 states.
ForceEight
The laws don't mean anything. The NFL is a private organization (a club, if you will) and members can be disallowed or suspended at their will, even for something that is legal. ForceEight
I bet the union is looking into it. Yup! Exactly what they're paid to do ;) I doubt that they'd ever end up fighting against it though, because of the stigma such a fight would present upon the union's members--a bunch of potheads vs the athletes/machines we want them to be. ForceEight
Stupid is as stupid does. He'll never wear a uniform again, and I think that's what he deserves.
tsylvester
You think the Browns regret nopt trying to trade him last yr? No, he was worth the risk of keeping around. He was doing all the right things when he came back, going to meetings etc, and you saw the results, lead the league even after missing those games and, on the Browns, with no real quarterback....... Sadly, looks like his career might be over, with this DUI, if it sticks, he may bet suspended for the season.
papasmurfbell
When you have a guy with that many off the field hits and with that much value at the time I think you have to pull the trigger on a trade.
