papasmurfbell Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Don't forget Tom Bieber (I mean Brady) has "nice" cash flow courtesy of Giselle. And the endorsements. Quote
varaven45 Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 That's right. I'm sure that $ is needed to maintain the moat around his New England castle plus prevent the serfs from invading his kingdom. Quote
vmax Posted December 17, 2014 Author Posted December 17, 2014 In GB they projected they would need a replacement for Favre and did something about it. It is like how I said to draft Birks replacement a yr before the SB. 2013 did not have to be the disaster with the OL it was. Also SF projected they would need a replacement for Montana and they got him. Sure Brady will be done soon but he isn't yet. To have a QB of his quality who takes hometown discounts to have the talent around him would be great. Every team projects for a replacement of their QB whether he's great or average. The problem is this is a QB starved league, so most of the time "you luck into" a very good QB as the next step. You hope to draft or acquire good replacements for very good players but it doesn't always work out. Sometimes a team ahead of you in the draft takes your guy.Sometimes...let's say... you have 3 needs on offense but the BPA may be a defensive stud. There are tons of variables and team needs and no organization can fill them all. As for Birks replacement: How do you know that they weren't looking for it, but couldn't find the right guy?Birk's absence was not all that was wrong with the line. Yanda was 60% coming off an injury, Oher just played shitty.. KO got injured and Monroe was new. and Rice forgot how to run and then he got hurt. Joe lost Boldin and Pita and had nowhere to throw the ball. There was a lot more wrong than just Birks absence. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 They drafted no centers until birks last yr. They tried to get him to stay another season. To me the writing on the wall was they hadn't done the work early enough. GB saw the writing on the wall. They were being prepared especially when Rodgers dropped so low i the draft. Quote

The Ravens have done so well since 2008, they've been drafting from the back of the pack. That's probably why Ozzie drafts BPA. I admit that shopping for the BPA isn't very exciting to me but it's worked for the Ravens very well. Quote
thundercleetz Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Elite QB... And elite actor!?!? http://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2014/12/19/7423185/obama-called-james-franco-james-flacco-and-everyone-tweeted-the-same Quote
papasmurfbell Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 We know Obama is a huge sports fan so this is not shocking to me. Quote
