rastaman831226 Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 This one's a shocker. Josh Bynes was waived. Why? Who knows. I always thought he was one of the better LB's. Quote
ForceEight Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 He was waived to make room for Cox. I am only surprised that he was cut over McClellan, but not particularly fussed about it. Cox is more valuable right now. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 He might be back soon. He has been cut before. I would like to see him succeed. He is a blue collar type of guy. He worked past the broken back and everything. Quote
tsylvester Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 This is likely one of those: "we are releasing you for a few weeks, go on vaccation and leave your phone at home:, type moves. They will have to release a player when Rice gets back and then again when the suspension is up for the safety, and maybe again if Cody comes back..... This was they do not have to guarantee his contract for the year. Quote
vmax Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 The Cowboys should have taken him instead of Sams. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 If they take Bynes were signed by Dallas it would not be as a PS player. They need a MLB who can start so don't be shocked to see him there. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Thats why Sam being signed is not an issue. Hell Sam might be starting by mid season as thin as they are on the DL. Quote
rastaman831226 Posted September 4, 2014 Author Posted September 4, 2014 C'mon fellas, Bynes is a 3 - 4 LB fresh out of the Ravens' system, he has value. Some team running a 3 - 4 defense will pick him up. Perhaps, unfortuanately, even a team within our own Division. Thought Bynes plus a receiver would make good trade bait for a solid backup CB. To waive Bynes seems like such a waste of NFL talent. This is not good. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Most trades are for picks. That is what has the most value. Quote

That is what has the most value.Still, a trade for picks to recoup the picks traded for Zuttah and Campanaro or a straight trade for a CB would have made more sense than just waiving Bynes and getting nothing in return. GrubberRaven Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 He's now on the practice squad... 1 Quote

Pataiali'i to create a spot for Bynes on the 10-man practice squad.Although Bynes has played in 26 career games with nine starts and was on the Ravens' practice squad in 2011 and 2012, he's eligible for the practice squad under the NFL's expanded rules adopted this year. 1 Quote
papasmurfbell Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Just what makes you think the team did not explore every avenue? Yeah. When they see the Ravens have to make a cut why trade a pick away? 1 Quote

rastaman831226 Posted September 5, 2014 Author Posted September 5, 2014 Practice Squad or not, I still say Bynes will be picked up by a team looking for some 3 - 4 LB depth. A net gain of absolutely 0 for this team. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Yeah cuts are by definition not gains. It is almost impossible to trade a guy you are looking to cut. Quote
rastaman831226 Posted September 7, 2014 Author Posted September 7, 2014 Cox cut Bynes back on active list for this Bengals game. What's up with that? Quote
