Alright, what's everyone's take on Chris Davis not being to the alcs roster?

 

I don't think he'll be added to the world series roster either and as a matter of fact has played his last game in a Baltimore uniform,

Please don't post what I know you want to about the series Cravn. I think the Orioles should win the series but KC is so hot I am not sure they will. I like our chances though.

 

At least for this series you can't use a roster space for Chris when he cannot be used until game 5. It makes no sense, especially if they carry 11 pitchers. A wasted spot could really hurt.

 

If they advance I am torn if they should have him on the roster.

Hopefully the weather cooperates. I love the start time for a Friday night but it may be raining.

Davis is not on the ALCS roster because he wouldn't be available until Game 6 - if it gets that far - but would take up the roster spot and we'd be playing with a short bench the whole series.

 

If we get there, even if we get there in 4 games, I bet he is on the WS roster. Buck said he would welcome him back but he would also let the team vote. I don't think his teammates are against him at all. And he's a huge value - especially in a line-up missing out on a LHB that can hit for power.

 

I like our chances. I worry most about the Royals running game and hitting their SP - not because their SP are so good, but because we struggle so much sometimes in random ways. At the same time, I was reading a great article on how Buck has really turned this team into one you cannot run on - Tillman only allowed 2 SB all year, which is wild. He used to be pretty awful at holding runners.

 

Their bullpen is also pretty impressive - Wade Davis might have been the best reliever in the league this year.

Just one stat I read today at lunch, quite interesting. Since KC has been in existence we have faced them 24 times in the playoffs, KC won the very first meeting. Os have won 23 straight playoff games vs KC.

Man, KC is firing on all cylinders and is going to be tough to beat. We have to win tonight; cannot afford to go to KC down 2-0.

The Orioles must have a great pitching performance to get out of this round and advance.

That was the first game of the PO's I watched. I really like how KC is built. They will be a real hard out.

The Royals are world beaters right now and playing with no fear. They remind me of our 2000 Ravens ( I know different sport). It's like they don't know what they don't know. And they don't care.

 

We need a huge break tonight and some Os magic to get back on the series. Norris need to be the man tonight.

The Royals are a real solid team and a good team but at times the Orioles didn't play well. Of course they need to win today but after watching the game last night I feel better about the Orioles chances of winning the series. It might not make sense but I do. Can't go down 0-2 though.

Beating Shields was always going to be the toughest game. We could and should have win last night - really we win if Pearce makes the pick of the JJ play in the royals big inning. That's the runs right there.

 

But we should have a much better time against the rest of their starters. Burt is those last three in the pen that will always be trouble. But we prices last night, if we get to anyone but their main three - we can hit them. And we hit Holland too.

Losing two at home gives me no hope, our starters are horrible, we have never had a lead. I have no confidence that we can go to kc and take 2

We are just getting beaten by a slightly better team that is white HOT. I don't see anyone beating KC right now, Giants or Cardinals.

The whole team needs to step it up. Pitching on both ends has struggled. Bats have been less than stellar especially when we need them. Defense has let us down across the board when it counts.

 

We're two missed defensive plays or timely hits or untimely walls away from winning those games. We got to their starters better than I thought we would but just more terrible else where. Things can still click.

 

But sure hope is fading

Over your head or pretty dead on with our predicted win loss based on all the metrics and clearly better than most anyone else in the league.

I don't think that's it. I think a lot of people underestimated KC's speed on the series. KC might not be stealing bases but they are getting on base and making our pitchers very uncomfortable.

 

This is a very evenly matched series. The difference has been KC's big three in the bullpen (Herrera, Davis and Holland) have been better then our big three (Miller, O'Day, and Britton). Both teams have gotten hits, had disappointing starting pitching, and missed opportunities with RISP. The difference has been our bullpen has broken first in both games.

 

One more thing: KC has played better defense then us. We've been robbed of multiple extra base hits due to the speed in their outfield. On defense, Pearce couldn't catch a Hardy throw in the first game which led to a four run inning. Yesterday Flaherty made a couple of bad plays.

 

This is still very much a series, but tomorrow is a must win.
