varaven45
Not because of the playoff implications but to watch the amazing talent the Bengals have amassed over the past few years. In case anyone is watching, that team with a so called lousy owner is absolutely loaded - everywhere and esp in the secondary and RB position. Meanwhile, we've got pickups from Lord knows where as our starting CBs and 0 depth. For a front office with Ozzie at the helm, we are sure are missing the boat. Either the game has passed him by or he just doesn't have it. Either way, our FO needs to get game....soon....or we better get used to AFCN cellar. Jungletiger
No, the owner is still lousy, thankfully he is starting to pull a Vince McMahon and is letting go of some things on the team and leaving it to his daughter and her husband. Also, for as bad a coach as ML is, he has an eye for talent.
varaven45
I understood the owner is still lousy. Its amazing you are securing good talent in spite of him.

He rearranged the scouting dept and everything. That is why Brown should never fire Marvin. Would he ever find a better person for the job? Jungletiger
Most Bengal fans would like to see Marv moved out of the HC position and into the talent department full time.
papasmurfbell
But would Brown hire someone that is any good? He seems to have lucked into Marvin.
varaven45
Well...then the Biscuit or FO needs to luck into another Marvin Lewis or this ship will continue sinking .... and fast. Looking back now, our window ended with the SB win 2 years ago. Its way back in the rear view mirror. The FO's philosophy/culture needs to change, especially in the procurement of offensive and defensive playmakers. Our offense currently has 0 playmakers . None. Nobody on our offense puts the fear in any team. We need a young, durable, physical WR, TE and RB - just to approach relevancy in the NFL. Not an easy task but necessary. On D, our front 7 seven is adequate, but we need to blow up the secondary (sans Jimmy Smith and maybe Will Hill). The FO needs to get its collective arse together in 2015 (and 2016) and beg, borrow or steal one of each via FA or the draft. It may take a couple or several years of successful drafting and acquisitions but it needs to happen just to be relevant in today's NFL. Bite the bullet, suck it up a couple years, and return to being relevant. If we don't, we'll be occupying the AFCN cellar soon.

The biggest is that we might have to suffer through a couple more mediocre years before all the missing parts can be assembled in the secondary and on offense. JPPT1974
Really Peyton proved he was not Peyton the month of December. Thrown more INTs than TD's in this month. It is a wake up call for the Broncos. Cincy is inconsistent usually but they really showed, that they can be the team to beat. Though they have to get through Steelers in the finale! I thinnk SS is a threat but I think since others have not been threats D's have been taking him away. The whole team needs some retooling. On D they have several playmakers.
