papasmurfbell Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/01/13/ravens-will-coach-one-of-the-pro-bowl-teams/ With John Fox out as coach of the Broncos and the rest of the staff in upheaval as the team plots its course, the NFL was left without an AFC staff to coach one of the two Pro Bowl teams in Glendale, Arizona later this month. That problem has been solved. Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Tuesday that the team has accepted the league’s request to step in for the Broncos. Typically, the highest-seeded team to lose in the divisional round does the honors so it wasn’t too big a leap to move from the Broncos to the Ravens.Harbaugh said, via the Baltimore Sun, that he polled the team’s coaches before making the call and said that the staff is looking forward to gaining the exposure to players from other teams that comes with running the show at the Pro Bowl.Three Ravens are currently slated to play in the game. Several other members of the teams were selected as alternates and could join linebacker Elvis Dumervil, guardMarshal Yanda and linebacker C.J. Mosley at the game. With the Cowboys staff still unsettled, the league may need to find another group to face off against the Ravens-led squad. The Panthers would seem to be the likeliest choice as they are in the same spot in the NFC that the Ravens hold in the AFC.This is interesting. Quote
RavenMad Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Maybe the coaching staff can get in the ear of a few free agents we might want to join us. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted January 15, 2015 Author Posted January 15, 2015 I was thinking the same thing. Is that tampering? Quote
cravnravn Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 (edited) I was thinking the same thing. Is that tampering?I think it is if a coach approaches a player, but if one of our players approach to put a bug in a free agents ear, its all good. Edited January 16, 2015 by cravnravn Quote
thundercleetz Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Are we even going to have a coaching staff come the Pro Bowl? Quote
papasmurfbell Posted January 16, 2015 Author Posted January 16, 2015 You think they are regretting taking that offer up? Quote
vmax Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Ravens will coach one of the Pro Bowl teams "Do you think it will be the AFC Team?" Quote
papasmurfbell Posted January 16, 2015 Author Posted January 16, 2015 There is no afc or nfc teams anymore. Quote
vmax Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 There is no afc or nfc teams anymore. That's dumb. No rivalry. No conference pride.Where's the hate! Quote
oldno82 Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 The Pro Bowl isn't worth a bucket of warm piss. I'd rather we'd not have accepted and now if Kubiak leaves with Dennison and Pariani and with Spags gone, who the hell is left to coach them??? Quote
papasmurfbell Posted January 16, 2015 Author Posted January 16, 2015 I would do away with the whole game. Quote
oldno82 Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 I would do away with the whole game. Absolutely. It's been a farce for decades. Quote
cravnravn Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Who watches it? How do they afford to keep it going if a ncis rerun gets more viewers then the pro bowl? I can't recall the last pro bowl I've glanced at. Quote
oldno82 Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 The last one I watched was several years ago and it was totally obvious that no one was really trying so I gave up on it. Quote
RavenMad Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 I stopped watching after they moved it to before the Super Bowl. When it was played after the Superbowl I watched because it was the last football we would see for 6 months. Quote

I can't recall the last pro bowl I've glanced at.It actually gets ratings. I think the playoff watchers come out and watch it. Real football fans want nothing to do with it. Quote
vmax Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 I'm going to try and watch it because our coaches and players are there. Not too sure about Harbaughs selection of cheerleaders for this event... Quote
