GrubberRaven Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I still see Haloti finishing his contract and retiring. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 He better redo his deal soon. They will be forced to make a move soon. Quote
thundercleetz Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 With McPhee getting a deal that averages $6M a year and Torrey getting a deal that likely averages $7-9M a year, we could get two thirds or a third and a fourth in compensatory picks next offseason. With that said, I don't see Ozzie signing any UFAs that are coming off of rookie deals, and canceling Torrey and McPhee's deals in the compensatory formula. We don't have anyone else coming off of a rookie deal that I believe will get signed for a big enough deal that would factor in. Because of this, I predict we will only go after cut players. Quote

RavenMad Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I'm not surprised we haven't extended him. Isn't he one accidental illegal supplement away from a year long suspension? He is on the downside of his career and we have young guys waiting to take over. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Ngata isn't like a guy who gets in trouble all the time. But you are right about the downside. Quote
thundercleetz Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Ngata at this point in his career is a part time player. His effectiveness decreased dramatically as his playing time increased. Quote
tsylvester Posted March 10, 2015 Author Posted March 10, 2015 So now they should be some where close to $14-16 mil under with all their free agents to sign. Plenty of money to either carry over or use on fill in talent. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 That isn't a tone. They have 48 under contract and not all the tenders were taken out before. Quote
tsylvester Posted March 10, 2015 Author Posted March 10, 2015 That isn't a tone. They have 48 under contract and not all the tenders were taken out before. Not a ton, but plenty for certain to get done what they need to get done. Quote
cravnravn Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 What about Webby? He's a 12 mil hit, no way we pay that for a part time corner Quote
papasmurfbell Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Is he part time. If he is totally healthy it is a good price. Also they are in a position now to wait until June 1. Quote
