tsylvester Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Not much of a loss, he couldn't stay on the field.
thundercleetz Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/16233314/baltimore-ravens-release-eugene-monroe They are all in on the rookie. They have no lifeline now.You always wanted the Ravens to go young well here you go.
papasmurfbell Posted June 15, 2016 Author Posted June 15, 2016 Yep. I would have done KO over Yanda though.
tsylvester Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Yep. I would have done KO over Yanda though.Yanda is a proven guard who can slide out to right tackle in a pinch. An all pro guard too boot. KO is a good guard who may or may not work out as a tackle, who also wanted left tackle money. I wanted the Ravens to keep him too, but his price was too high.
papasmurfbell Posted June 15, 2016 Author Posted June 15, 2016 But I look at the long term. I like Yanda but he will be effective for a shorter period than KO.
tsylvester Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 Stupid. Keep him for depth if nothing else. He would be a distraction, he did not want to be here as a back up.
oldno82 Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 Yeah, things were getting out of hand with Monroe. He had to go. Don't want any negativity to affect the team, especially since it's so young..
OutsideRzAcE Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 That's interesting because Monroe never gave the impression he was the type of person to cause disruption. One would have thought from all the missed games he's had the past few years he'd have no issue sitting and collecting a check.
tsylvester Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Monroe turned down the Giants offer because he wants to play and be paid as a left tackle. They felt he was not a left tackle any longer.
vmax Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 The Ravens are historically smart in free agency, but the deal with Monroe will rank as the biggest disappointment in the team’s 20-year existence, exceeding the ones given to offensive tackle Leon Searcy ($3 million in 2001) and Domonique Foxworth ($16.5 million guaranteed in 2009).http://espn.go.com/blog/baltimore-ravens/post/_/id/28191/deal-with-eugene-monroe-will-go-down-as-one-of-ravens-worst-in-franchise-history He played 17 games and was paid 17 million $.He has no reason to bitch.
