vmax Posted October 31, 2018 Posted October 31, 2018 Moving on.....I will be at the game Sunday yelling my face off.I mean....this is it.A loss and this season is over. A win?5-4Bye week.A win over the Bengals????6-4 And we got a shot. And maybe the rest of November and into December becomes interesting. I'm going on record; My gut tells me the Ravens will take care of business Sunday. My heads is saying the same thing despite the last 3 years of evidence that proves the Ravens know how to lose games and can't find ways to win against teams with winning records or playoff caliber teams. But who cares about logic!!!!!!!!!!?Only corporate dumbys. Quote
Spen Posted October 31, 2018 Posted October 31, 2018 I didn't think they would be very good this season then the quick start tricked me into thinking they were going to be good. I don't think they will be any longet, but I'm not sure they are done for the year either. I don't feel good about this week though. Hope I'm wrong. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted October 31, 2018 Posted October 31, 2018 I am seeing 2 more loses. After that I see them packing it in. My question is if harbs makes the end of the season or not. Quote
vmax Posted November 1, 2018 Author Posted November 1, 2018 (edited) Hensley basically says this is it.... OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- John Harbaugh has coached the Baltimore Ravens in the highest-stakes games in the NFL, from capturing a Super Bowl to winning playoff games in New England, Pittsburgh, Denver and Kansas City. But as far as his future in Baltimore is concerned, there haven't been much bigger games than Harbaugh's next two: home against the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Bengals.Beating those AFC North teams would end the Ravens' recent tailspin and make them the favorites to take the division. Losing those games would essentially eliminate Baltimore from the AFC North race and make it an uphill battle to reach the playoffs, which could put Harbaugh's 11-year run with the Ravens in jeopardy..........http://www.espn.com/blog/baltimore-ravens/post/_/id/47046/future-is-now-john-harbaugh-begins-his-most-critical-stretch I agree. This is going to be real interesting to see if and how they fight back. Edited November 1, 2018 by vmax Quote
vmax Posted November 1, 2018 Author Posted November 1, 2018 Just in!Harbaugh got my copy of The LeaRning Triangle! He has the whole team and coaching staff staring at this all day.... What's next? Quote
oldno82 Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 Just a hunch...we'll beat the Steelers and the Bengals provided Humphrey and Stanley play. Otherwise it's all over. Quote
varaven45 Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 Oldno, IDK. Don't see a scenario by which we win on Sunday - w or w/o Humphrey & Stanley. Steelers are finding their mojo and ways to win; we aren't.This team's effort (and game outcome) will tell us a lot about its interest in playing for Harbaugh. Personally, its starting to feel like the pre-Billick firing atmosphere here ca. 10 years ago. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 If they caught the Stealers when Bell got back you might have confusion and team angst to help but noght right now.BTW Jeremy Conn is taking bets. He thinks the Ravens make the PO. Quote

vmax Posted November 1, 2018 Author Posted November 1, 2018 (edited) If Harbaugh goes, then Flacco goes.DeCosta gets to pick his HC.And we, the fans, are stuck with him and Lamar for the next 3 years at least. Good Head Coaches and QB's are rare. Getting both in one scoop makes it even rarer. I really like Lamar. If he develops his skills as an NFL passer and learns to read defenses and the whole field, then look out NFL. That's his shortcoming for now. That can change. It's not over. The other scenario is Good Joe could resurrect from the dead. The defense learns to finish games. Special Teams, which has been a major disappointment this year, needs to get it right. Then the Ravens make the playoffs and Decosta has some real tough decisions to make.Unless Steve steps in. vmax Posted November 1, 2018 Author Posted November 1, 2018 Jen with the hurt finger is the key to this game. let's hope this trend continues.... Ben Roethlisberger at Ravens (ESPN projection: 17.1 points): In Week 4 against these same Ravens, Big Ben threw 47 passes ... and finished as QB20! As my friends at FantasyLabs.com point out, "QBs are typically worse in their second matchup with a team (late-season division). They've averaged more than two fewer PPG and reached their expected points only 40.7 percent of the time." Roethlisberger plays the Ravens for the second time this season, and in his past four trips to Baltimore, he has averaged 0.4 TD/INT, one TD pass every 73 attempts, a 59.6 percent completion rate and 10.15 fantasy PPG. I'm taking the under here....http://www.espn.com/fantasy/football/story/_/page/TMRlovehate181101/fantasy-football-picks-sleepers-busts-week-9 Quote
papasmurfbell Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 Does anyone think Steve might change his mind on Eric? I don't see why he should get a pass on all this. Quote
oldno82 Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 I think Steve could possibly change his mind on Eric if it comes to that. Another question is if Steve would can Harbs during the start of the bye week. Don't know who they'd replace him with. I don't think they have a qualified person on the staff but maybe he'd just want to send a message and start the interviewing ball moving. I also don't think Lamar is ready for prime time now so what to do with Joe? Bench him and let Lamar play and gain the experience or show he's not the guy to lead us out of purgatory? And does Flacco have any trade value after the season? F**k! We're beginning to sound like the Browns. The team could stop all of this speculation by winning the next two games. Quote
vmax Posted November 3, 2018 Author Posted November 3, 2018 I'm still drinking the purple kool aid yet here are some sobering thoughts... Steelers +3 at RavensI know it is a rivalry game where anything can happen, and Pittsburgh has struggled at Baltimore lately. And the Ravens already beat them once, just a month ago. But these teams have changed a lot since then, and I think the Steelers are catching them at the right time. Baltimore's offensive line is all beat up, Joe Flacco is not playing well, and outside of John Brown there is no one showing up on a regular basis in the Ravens' attack or doing anything remotely explosive. The Ravens can't cover seam routes or tight ends and running backs, and Pittsburgh has plenty of those guys who can catch the ball. Pittsburgh is much more balanced on offense than the first meeting, the pass rush has ramped up, and I will gladly take the points here (Ravens were also favored over New Orleans and Carolina and lost both outright). CBS LaCanfora Ok. I'll give him this. The Ravens are still going to kick the Steelers ass. Quote

The team could stop all of this speculation by winning the next two games.Rossburg is the asst head coach so maybe he takes over. I would not mind Roman. I respect him as a coach. I play Jackson. Why win meaningless games and get away from a much better pick? Give Lamar the much needed reps. Flacco has not value. He has value in the Winter of 2013 when he should have been traded. He is one of the worst starting QBs now. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/25158886/baltimore-ravens-ronnie-stanley-james-hurst Ravens rule out starters Ronnie Stanley, James HurstI would say this is a wrap for Sunday. Quote
varaven45 Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 It was a wrap w or w/o Stanley & Hurst. The only possible chance of this even being a game is Roethlisberger having a major meltdown (e.g. commits multiple turnovers). There is no other conceivable way this game is competitive. Quote
