tsylvester
New England acquired offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor from Baltimore for an undisclosed draft pick, the Ravens announced. Cardinals offensive tackle Korey Cunningham announced in a now-deleted Instagram post that he was also traded to the Patriots. Eluemunor, a fifth-round pick in 2017, was Baltimore's starting left guard all spring but fell out of favor after failing a conditioning test to open training camp and being unable to stay on field due to injuries. When he got on the field, he lacked discipline, getting flagged frequently for false starts. Eluemunor has the size and versatility to play guard or tackle, but he hasn't shown the toughness to be a consistent contributor. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/27486307/patriots-make-2-trades-bolster-offensive-line?platform=amp

tsylvester
He is the Jimmy Smith of the offense; a penalty waiting to happen. He never really played hard all the time, had the size and ability, he just never showed the heart.
oldno82
Had his weaknesses for sure. So, who’s gonna play LG? I’d like to see Powers claim that spot but I haven’t been watching that position too much to make a sound judgement.
papasmurfbell
Powers has not been doing great.

papasmurfbell
Hell they sent him and the 6th for a 4th rounder. Eric won. That is a wonderful move.

vmax
Looks like 'promise' and potential' is a short term quality for Eric. He's making moves like crazy.Good move...10 picks next year.... Ravens traded OL Jermaine Eluemunor and a sixth-round pick to New England for the Patriots' fourth-round pick, according to Adam Schefter. Baltimore is slated to have as many as 10 picks in the 2020 draft: first round (one pick); second round (one pick); third round (two picks, original and a comp pick for losing Za'Darius Smith); fourth round (three picks, including original, a comp pick for losing John Brown and a pick from Patriots for Eluemunor trade); fifth round (two picks, original and one pick from Vikings for Kaare Vedvick trade); and seventh round (one conditional from Jets for Alex Lewis trade). varaven45
Nice move indeed for us ! Plus, its a little out of character for the Pats to be scraping the barrel for OL help this late in the preseason eh ?
papasmurfbell
I think Eric is doing this more like Bill does it than Ozzie.
tsylvester
Well, if Powers is the starter, it is an even trade off. Last night he showed good quickness pulling, good awareness in second level blocking and is pass blocking, with his head on a swivel picking up stunts quickly. However, he gets pushed back, gives up too much ground in man on man pass blocking. He does all right in run blocking at the very least turning his man, though not moving him off the ball. In essence, he needs to get stronger, which won't happen this year...
