varaven45 Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 LeRon McLain is being considered as PB selection as FB. Can anyone explain whta the hell he done this year besides hock on some big mouth Dolphins LB (Crowder, I think?). Anyone, Crav, Max or Cleetz. I dont get it ! Quote
dc. Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 For a position like FB, it's all about name recognition... and after making it the last two years, quite deservedly, I'm sure it's just that he's among the best known. Do you know any other FBs in the league right now? Any you'd pick over him? Plus... he's a good blocker and still pretty decent as a receiver. Quote
varaven45 Posted December 17, 2010 Author Posted December 17, 2010 Name another FB in the AFC..I cant Gotta be the reason. He hasnt done jack squat this year. Maybe he can open up a lane this Sunday vs Saints so Ray Rice can improve on his 3.9 YPC average. Quote
vmax Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Sam Gash went year after year and he rarely carried the ball or caught a pass. Name recognition is a big part of it too. Why they don't run him more is a mystery. It takes at least 3 guys to bring him down. Sit Willis and Ray in the 4th quarter and pound McLain...he'll wear the D out quick. For that matter, rush him in the 1st and 2nd quarter to soften them up....get the safeties to groan when they see him comming. McClain made it the year he ran wild and got a ton of carries and has made it ever since. We get a bunch of national games and people still remember him, pretty simple. Quote
Spen Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Just another example that the pro bowl is a joke. Quote
cravnravn Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Dont worry he wont be playing in the pro-bowl, our selections will be resting for the Super Bowl. Quote
