cravnravn Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Lets face it, they were Bazooka Joe's "security blanket" along with Ray Rice. Now do you think Joe can adjust and find that comfort zone with Dickson & Boldin? Quote
yagersports Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Joe is a good QB, he will be fine. It's not like he's being left with nothing. Boldin and Rice are solid. It'll be good to get some young hungry guys in here to compliment them. Quote
colincac Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 I am positive that if it's not Mason returning, we will sign one of these other veteran WR's available to a 1 or 2 year deal at a low price. Joe will have plenty of targets. Quote

You know I was wondering if maybe another reason they cut these guys was to force Joe and Cam to rely more on Boldin and the younger guys. I tend to think not but I do wonder. I still think Mase and possibly Heap will be back but at much reduced cost and thats a good thing since we needed cap space. Quote
vmax Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 I think Heap and Mason will be resigned. If not...probably not missed. Why? The passing offense was 20th last year so it really can't get much worse. Final 2 games last year: 102 yards against the Browns...102 yards125 yards against the Bengals. We saw how these guys couldn't get open.Time for change. Quote
cravnravn Posted July 28, 2011 Author Posted July 28, 2011 D-Mase and Todd Heap have accounted for over 50% of Bazooka Joes TD passes. Quote
yagersports Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 I would like to see Heap return, not sure anyone would not like Heap back. Mason has been awesome, but his separation each year gets less and less. It reminds me a bit of Shannon Sharpe. Still making catches, but tackled as soon as the catch is made. I wouldn't mind seeing Mason as a 3rd receiver, however I think Joe would "lean" on him too much where he needs to lean on Boldin. We need to let Boldin make plays on the out patterns etc. Boldin can break tackles and get those precious YACs. Quote
