Maybe, likely the best deal that they could get considering He is a WR so that doesnt apply. Quote

Baltimore Ravens — Christian Haynes, G, UConn This might seem like a surprise to some, but Haynes is a stud who is worth this selection. The Ravens desperately need help on the interior, but have run out of traditionally mocked options with the way this mock draft has unfolded. Haynes is a versatile, talented lineman who can block in a variety of run schemes. That works for an offense featuring Lamar Jackson and the newly signed Derrick Henry. https://www.nfl.com/news/maurice-jones-drew-2024-nfl-mock-draft-1-0-five-qbs-in-top-six-bills-nab-wr-after-stefon-diggs-trade Quote 30 Baltimore Ravens Troy Fautanu Washington · OT · Senior Fautanu fits the Ravens’ mold as a physical presence up front. Baltimore Ravens – Jordan Morgan, OT, Arizona Always one to keep his eye on value rather than just positional need, Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta might be somewhat boxed in this year by several of his team's losses in free agency – particularly along the offensive line, which bid farewell to both starting offensive guards as well as right tackle Morgan Moses. Morgan could be a plug-and-play option at any of the vacant spots while still potentially replacing left tackle Ronnie Stanley in the long term. Quote
oldno82 Posted April 5 Posted April 5 There seems to be a lot of offensive tackles of quality in this draft. One of the very good ones should fall to us at 30. That's what I hope happens. Because of all the free agent losses, I agree with the analyst who said that DeCosta might have to stray a bit from his best player available draft strategy and go with the BPA for a position of need this year. BALTIMORE RAVENS: OT JC LATHAM, ALABAMA Big board analysis: Latham is in the mold of an offensive lineman who does not come around often. He will be just 21 years old during his rookie season, yet he has two years of starting experience in the SEC. Despite garnering 18 penalties over the past two years and having room to improve in some anticipation parts of the position, Latham is a first-round trench player due to his rare combination of size, speed and refinement. https://www.nfl.com/news/rhett-lewis-2024-nfl-mock-draft-1-0-two-teams-trade-up-for-qbs-bears-pick-wr-at-no-9 Quote 30 Baltimore Ravens Jer'Zhan Newton Illinois · DT · Senior A foot injury has sidelined Newton during this path to the draft, but make no mistake, his game-wrecking ability was present and accounted for on tape. oldno82 Posted April 13 Posted April 13 Good stuff, Papa...thanks for posting. Sounds like a lot of OT talent in this draft even where we are drafting. I like McConkey, but not as our first pick. Right about not needing DL help now that Justin is with us for the long haul. Right now we're 3 offensive lineman short from last year. We should probably be drafting help there with our first and third (second?) picks. Quote
tsylvester Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Eric on who he thinks will be the next break out player like Brandon Stephens was, was quite telling, perhaps. He said Bateman, that they feel they had too many receivers last year to get him the ball. But they feel comfortable this year with Bateman, Zay, Mark and Isaiah. So, maybe he is telling the truth, and they will NOT, go after a receiver via trade, nor reach for one in the draft. However, this could also be a smoke screen, Bateman is on the final year of his rookie deal, pick up his option or not in a week and a half... Now, Bateman looks great in his work out video, now going on year two removed from the Lis Frank injury, a time when most who suffered this injury usually rebound. Should be interesting. Quote
oldno82 Posted April 19 Posted April 19 If they pick up his option before the draft I think they won't take a receiver on day one or two. If not, I think they'll press ahead and pick one even if there is a few days before his option expires. Quote

But in this scenario, he goes after Frazier and falls to the Ravens, who have center covered (by Tyler Linderbaum) but do have starting jobs open elsewhere on the line. Barton might fit best at guard, though he also has 34 college starts at left tackle, so Baltimore could try him outside, too. Either way, he's a tough, smart and ornery blocker who has the makeup to settle in as a quality pro. Quote

BALTIMORE RAVENS: T JC LATHAM, ALABAMA After trading away Morgan Moses, the Ravens seeing one of the top right tackle prospects in the draft fall to them would be an ideal scenario. Latham earned PFF pass- and run-blocking grades of 81.7 and 79.6, respectively, and would be a plug-and-play starter on the right side. 62. BALTIMORE RAVENS: EDGE ADISA ISAAC, PENN STATE After a failed attempt to move up to grab Xavier Worthy, the Ravens stick at Pick No. 62 and land another good value against the PFF big board. Isaac is not the biggest edge defender around, but he flashed enough in college and racked up 33 total pressures, including nine sacks, from 208 pass-rushing snaps. 93. BALTIMORE RAVENS: WR JOHNNY WILSON, FLORIDA STATE Wilson is a huge target at 6-foot-6 and 231 pounds. He's an explosive athlete, and his timed 40-yard speed of 4.52 was good enough for a player of his size. While dropping 12.8% of his college targets is a concern, along with being a size outlier, he is a solid value based on the remaining prospects. 113. Baltimore Ravens — Tyler Guyton, OT, Oklahoma The Ravens need reinforcements at offensive line, and Guyton is a good athlete who is an easy mover in space but still needs work in refining his game. He has quality starting tackle upside, something so hard to find at this point in the draft, and wouldn’t necessarily need to play right away. He would also give them a player to keep the bottom from falling out in case Ronnie Stanley’s career keeps trending downward. Quote

BALTIMORE RAVENS Baltimore really should be going offensive line no matter what, but, man— if Robinson falls to them, wouldn’t it feel so Ravens-y for them to snag him? Baltimore went for an explosive Penn State pass rusher a few seasons ago in Odafe Oweh, who has been only a rotational player for them, but Robinson fits the mold they’ve pursued in recent drafts in Oweh and Michigan’s David Ojabo. I don’t think Eric DeCosta will be put off by recent misses, especially with the shoes of Jadeveon Clowney to fill. SHADES OF BRIAN BURNS TWITCHY, EXPLOSIVE EDGE RUSHER WITH EXCEPTIONALLY RARE athletic traits and upside through the roof—but underwhelming college numbers. Elite Athleticism Short-Area Quickness Relentless Motor Infinite Upside SCOUTING REPORT BY DANNY KELLY Robinson has a muscular, tapered frame with long arms and plays with an extraordinarily souped-up burst. He uncoils out of his stance at the snap, exploding off the line to give him a near-instantaneous advantage over the tackle. His first two steps are often enough to get him to the high side of the tackle, and he shows good bend to dip and rip under a block. He has an effective inside counter move, faking outside before juking back to the inside to take advantage of the respect tackles give his speed. He brings lightning-quick hands as a rusher, employing scissors and cross-chop moves to swipe and discard an opposing offensive lineman’s hands and send them lurching forward. Robinson brings a good push/pull move to shoot into the pocket and converts speed to power with his bull rush. When he can land a two-hand punch and drive his feet, he sends offensive linemen right into the quarterback’s lap. Robinson is very active and tenacious off the edge, never settling for a stalemate. He plays with the pedal to the metal at all times. He gets low and takes on blocks with good leverage. He fires hands out into opponents and stacks them, using his powerful upper-body torque to wrench tight ends and offensive linemen out of his way so he can make the tackle. He takes edge-setting duties seriously, locking out his arms while positioning himself to turn the running back inside. He is a fluid mover who is very comfortable in space when asked to drop into zones. Robinson’s production was disappointing relative to his explosive traits (just four sacks in 2023 and 11.5 sacks in three seasons). He didn’t finish his rush and get the quarterback consistently. When he looks to dip low to get into the pocket, he can open himself up to the opposing tackle’s hands. He gets pushed out of the way and tangled up when trying to execute moves. He needs to continue to develop his pass-rush repertoire. He may need to bulk up and add some weight to really make an impact in the pros. WHY HE COULD RISE Robinson has ludicrous burst and bend off the edge; he brings elite potential with some development. WHY HE COULD FALL He never posted high-end numbers at Penn State and could need a few years to develop his pass-rush plan. BACKGROUND AND STATS BY DANIEL COMER A junior and former four-star prospect out of Gaithersburg, Maryland. Was the no. 4 edge recruit in his class and the no. 68 player overall. Began his college career in 2021 as a true freshman at Maryland, where he played in 13 games (one start) and totaled 19 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks. Transferred to Penn State for his sophomore year, when he appeared in 12 games and posted 26 tackles (19 solo), 10 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, two pass breakups, three quarterback hurries, a fumble recovery, and a forced fumble. Totaled just four sacks and 26 pressures in 2023 but ranks as PFF’s fourth-best edge defender in pass-rush grade. FUN FACTS Nicknamed “Pork Chop” because he was 11 or 12 pounds at birth. Signed an NIL deal to promote pork chops for the Pennsylvania Pork Producers Council, a group that works with nearly 3,000 state pig farmers to market their meat. Does a chop celebration after sacks. Ran an unofficial 4.47 40-yard dash last offseason. Quote
oldno82 Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Good stuff in that post! I'd be a happy camper if we can get Guyton at 30 and he turns out as good as they say he can. Wide receiver speculations were intriguing though I don't want anybody who had a 12.5% drop rate in college. It's going to be a tough choice should it come down to taking either Guyton or McAllister.
