tsylvester Posted Thursday at 10:26 AM Author Posted Thursday at 10:26 AM I'm not sold on Warren, not fast, limited athletism. Sure, he can catch, run straight and is a bull, but you are limited with the routes he can run. I doubt that they go for Stewart, yes, physical specimen at 6-6 280 or so. Excellent speed, long arms, but he needs a ton of work to learn how to use his abilities. They have a few guys like him already that don't seem to understand how to use their talents in Owa, Isaac's, etc. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted Thursday at 01:15 PM Posted Thursday at 01:15 PM You don’t have to be fast to be a really good te. Look at kelce. I like that he can throw. He can jump through the roof. I am also wondering if that snap play would work up here. Quote
tsylvester Posted Thursday at 01:59 PM Author Posted Thursday at 01:59 PM He doesn't have very high ups, usually those high light plays are against shorter dbs, lbs, he does have very good hands in traffic, I'll give him that. Kelsey has wiggle, loose hips which helps him get open, but more, get yards after catch. Warren doesn't, he breaks tackles of smaller dbs who don't have good tackling form. Hey, nothing wrong with that, Bavaro, Gronk, others with his similar style made nice careers. As for the direct snap, meh, those worked against bad teams, undisciplined defenses. We get that now with Henry, even Riccard at times. Sure, he is a better reciever than Riccard, slightly more athletic, but not by much. Quote

We need a guy who's ready now. Quote
tsylvester Posted Thursday at 03:41 PM Author Posted Thursday at 03:41 PM I read a USA Today article putting together a number of mock drafts from around the net. The concensus was the Ravens would draft the guard from Bama, a big mauler at 27. Not sure I would love the pick at 27, he needs work, better value in the 2nd or 3rd. Especially since those same drafts had a few real good pass rushers still on the board. Should be interesting tonight Quote
tsylvester Posted Thursday at 05:06 PM Author Posted Thursday at 05:06 PM A "sleeper pick" from the NY Times, though serial assault allegations may have taken him off of their board Marshall outside linebacker Mike Green was productive last season (17 sacks, 84 tackles). He’s a twitchy and explosive athlete who can get to the quarterback and set the edge against the run. Green has also twice faced sexual assault allegations. There were no formal charges filed, and Green has denied the allegations. His former coaches and mentors speak Quote
oldno82 Posted Thursday at 05:32 PM Posted Thursday at 05:32 PM I would only take the OG if there was not an impact-ready edge rusher, cornerback or safety available...especially if the guy needs development. There will be other options available for us, I think. As for Green, while you don't have to be a choir boy to play for us, I'd be very leery about a guy who might not even be out of jail during training camp. Quote

I’m talking about where he snapped the ball and ran a route for a td. Quote
tsylvester Posted Thursday at 08:04 PM Author Posted Thursday at 08:04 PM Yeah, that was nifty, a play from way back. My high-school used to run that play with me, I was a tightend and long snapper on special teams, linebacker on defense. Fun times.. center eligible We also ran the fumblerusky, though that didn't work too well... Ravens, if they don't move up or trade back, should pick around 11 pm, I'll be fast asleep... Quote
tsylvester Posted yesterday at 12:03 AM Author Posted yesterday at 12:03 AM & the 1st pick is........> it's 8:03 where is the pick, yes, I'm impatient at times Quote
tsylvester Posted yesterday at 12:15 AM Author Posted yesterday at 12:15 AM So the Titans pick, well, they have to think about it for a few minutes as if they have not had time to figure out who to make the 1st overall pick, oy.... they used almost all of the clock Cam Ward Quote
tsylvester Posted yesterday at 12:16 AM Author Posted yesterday at 12:16 AM The Browns finally have a 1st round pick for the first time in a few years, they currently pick 2nd but are fielding calls for a trade potential Quote
tsylvester Posted yesterday at 12:25 AM Author Posted yesterday at 12:25 AM Welp the Browns trade out with Jax, who waist no time getting their pick in Jax selects Travis Hunter Browns trade the 2nd pick, a 4th and 6th for the Jags 5th, 2nd round and 4th round picks and a 1st rd 2026 pick Quote
tsylvester Posted yesterday at 12:30 AM Author Posted yesterday at 12:30 AM Nice haul for the Browns Giants pick quickly, as they should having the 3rd pick Abdul Carter Quote
papasmurfbell Posted yesterday at 02:47 AM Posted yesterday at 02:47 AM The browns won that. i think sanders to the rams since Pitt passed. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted yesterday at 03:13 AM Posted yesterday at 03:13 AM We got starks. Good choice. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted yesterday at 03:14 AM Posted yesterday at 03:14 AM I wish we could have gotten that falcons trade up though. Quote
oldno82 Posted yesterday at 03:56 AM Posted yesterday at 03:56 AM Yeah the trade up would have been something but I am really delighted with us getting Starks. He's a guy who brings immediate impact they say and hell, he's from Georgia so he ought to be good. Quote
tsylvester Posted yesterday at 10:12 AM Author Posted yesterday at 10:12 AM Wow, very nice, a position of need and the best available. Sanders not going in the first, that had to hurt. Pitt got their big fatty, he is a beast. Quote
tsylvester Posted yesterday at 10:52 AM Author Posted yesterday at 10:52 AM Still a ton of talent left in this draft. Now they can focus on the need for both lines, with the 10 picks they have left, maybe a kicker too Quote
tsylvester Posted yesterday at 11:19 AM Author Posted yesterday at 11:19 AM Mike Green edge, Donovan Ezeluraku, edge, Shemar Turner, dt,Darius Alexander dt, Aireontae Ersery, right tackle/guard, Charles Grant, right tackle to name a few Quote
deeshopper Posted yesterday at 12:37 PM Posted yesterday at 12:37 PM Here's what Bleacher Report had to say about round one. Quote Baltimore Ravens: Malaki Starks, Safety, Georgia Strengths: Outstanding ball skills, quick trigger downhill, wrap-up tackler, great recognition in zone coverage Weaknesses: Lacks elite athleticism, can take some poor angles Grade: A The Baltimore Ravens standing pat and landing an elite talent is completely on brand. The B/R NFL Scouting Department had Georgia safety Malaki Starks as the No. 4 overall prospect in this year's draft. Positional value pushes him down to a degree, and he didn’t run quite as well as hoped prior to the draft, but he's silky smooth working the backline and in coverage. Starks is a classic example of seeing an athletic profile after watching a player for years, then realizing the two don't exactly match up. The former shouldn't completely override the latter, especially when the prospect isn't a poor athlete by any means. Starks posted a middling relative athletic score during predraft testing, per Kent Lee Platte. However, Starks' score compares to those of Earl Thomas, Xavier McKinney and Brian Branch. The two-time first-team All-American is an elite talent and playmaker along the back end. Three years of high-end performance in the nation's toughest conference, including starting as a true freshman, shows he's more than deserving of a high draft grade and ready to take on the NFL. Last season, the Ravens defense improved once Kyle Hamilton moved from strong to free safety, but they still finished 31st in pass defense. The addition of Starks will allow Baltimore to use Hamilton all over the field because he thrives when working against the pass. The fact he was available with the 27th overall pick is nothing short of stealing. Quote
GrubberRaven Posted yesterday at 12:55 PM Posted yesterday at 12:55 PM The only person I heard speak negatively was Ken McKusick. Felt we could have gotten better value and he's not as solid as his film may say. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted yesterday at 12:56 PM Posted yesterday at 12:56 PM It’s a great pick for the d. Hamilton can start playing queen again bc he has solid guy covering the back end. Quote
