tsylvester Posted April 25 Posted April 25 That is my guess, he showed promise in limited action last season. He fits the mold; maulers in the middle. That and the centers in this draft were largely not very good. They did well thus far, a few head scratches but the more I ruminate on it, the rb makes sense. While he is inexperienced, learning behind Henry and his time at wr, he is a decent, on paper, replacement for Mitchel.. The two wode outs means there will be quite rhe battle in the receivers room, Bateman or Tez may be on their way out.... They got a guy to set the edge and with some coaching, may turn out to be a very good pass rusher. In the mean time, he shares snaps with Green, allowing Hendricks, also good against the run, to stay on the field for 3 downs. Slot corner, good depth. I would like a big phatty, but maybe they have their eye on one who goes undrafted. An athletic tight end with very good ball skills. All in all, add in what should be a starting guard great at pass protection, I would say a successful draft without seeing the 6th & 7th round picks Quote
oldno82 Posted April 25 Author Posted April 25 Really, I was impressed by our overall draft. Most of the picks were B+ or better...the TE pick in the 4th has me at a loss, but I really don't have much data on him. I'm still feeling real high on Serrat. Don't know about Lane but he could wind up being a surprise but it was a reach for us. Overall, I'm happy with the draft, but I don't feel warm and fuzzy about the center position. Bullock did well but in limited usage. We might still make a trade for one. Another pick I liked was the Mizzou edge rusher. Quote
tsylvester Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Z Harris is still available, maybe they grab him here in the 6th Quote

Ryan Eckley has a very strong leg, averaging 48.5 yards per punt in 2025 -- the highest among FBS players with at least 10 punts. He has the touch to place the ball within the 20-yard line, doing so 20 times in 2025. His strong leg can outkick his coverage at times, so he needs to improve his hang time. Overall, Eckley has great leg strength to flip the field. -- Scouts Inc. Quote
tsylvester Posted April 25 Posted April 25 2 late picks in the 7th, 34th and 37th The big phatty from Ole Miss is still there Quote
tsylvester Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Details on the trade up with San Fran, from a San Fran page The San Francisco 49ers made another move on Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft, trading pick No. 133 to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for pick No. 154 and a 2027 sixth-round selection. Quote
tsylvester Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Rayshaun Benny, dt, Michigan, 6'-3", 298 Benny is a stout run defender who plays with good pad level and shows the ability to shoot his hands and drive blockers into the backfield. He tracks the ball well, disengages in time to make plays and fights through double-teams. He has the quickness to get into gaps and can slip blocks to disrupt plays. Benny has primarily been aligned inside, but he has also had snaps on the edge, showing some positional versatility. As a pass rusher, he flashes upside, generating push and collapsing the pocket. Overall, Benny remains a bit raw, but he has developmental potential. -- Scouts Inc. Quote
tsylvester Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Harris went undrafted, Eric should be on the phone with him asap Quote
oldno82 Posted April 25 Author Posted April 25 Like the punter pick based on his stats. Benny sounds good too...all dependent on how accurate Scouts, Inc. is, I guess. Quote
tsylvester Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Overall I think it was a very good draft, maybe a starter or two, role players, special teams, and even a player I really wanted them to draft lol Quote
oldno82 Posted April 26 Author Posted April 26 I agree...wish there had been a good C and DT for them too, but they did fill a lot of needs and should be better because of this draft. Not perfect but I'd give them a B+. Quote
tsylvester Posted April 26 Posted April 26 They've already signed a number of players, including the center from PSU and, a defensive tackle Aaron Graves, Iowa, 6'-5", 295, also Ladarius Webbs son. Quote
oldno82 Posted April 26 Author Posted April 26 Yes I saw that about the UDFA Center. He must have played next to Ioane, Has anybody signed the DT you were high on? Quote

While he has immense size (6'8", 330 lbs), his draft stock was limited by inconsistent playing technique, high pad level, and potential conditioning issues. USA Today USA Today +4 Quote

papasmurfbell Posted April 27 Posted April 27 I sure as hell would not put all my eggs in that basket. Sure you can coach a guy up some but as the saying goes it’s about the jimmys and joes. Quote
tsylvester Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Best guard in the draft, a couple of mountains as possible right tackles. An edge rusher who sets the edge real well and can play inside. An undrafted gem who has a high motor and knows how to work on the interior. What more do you want in 1 freaking draft? Quote

The first pick is great. A last round ot? Odds say he doesn’t make th3 team. No center. Undersized d tackles. Worked great with peoples last yr in the generational dt draft. That’s malpractice. Quote
tsylvester Posted April 27 Posted April 27 The centers in this draft are crap, years away from starting, if at all. Yet draft one anyway? They signed one right after the draft, im sure if they are as concerned as you, they will find a vet Quote
