No time outs left Allen runs up. Heads to the left sideline gets them into field goal range From 52 is good 16-7 The panthers are licking their chops to get us. Quote

Fire sale time, Henry, Humohrey, Smith, bring up the rookie off the practice squad, The Biscutt's pick, Randall, see what he can do. Sit Lamar for the rest of the season at this point. Good grief. oldno82 Posted Sunday at 09:53 PM Posted Sunday at 09:53 PM At the post game news conference, Nano indicated he'd be ready but I don't know if he really will. After we showed we can't protect our QBs, I have doubts. Meanwhile Lamar needs surgery...heading to IR...Minter says could be out for the season. This has been just a crappy crappy year for the Ravens. Just asking: should we follow the Colts lead and have a fire sale? No matter if they do or not, I see a sinking franchise over the next few years at least. Quote
tsylvester Posted Sunday at 09:53 PM Author Posted Sunday at 09:53 PM So surgery for Lamar, put on IR. I will repeat, trade Henry, all this talk about teams wanting Taylor, get in on the frenzy. This team is officially done, break it down, start a new next year with young, hungry talent Quote
tsylvester Posted Sunday at 09:57 PM Author Posted Sunday at 09:57 PM It is a good thing the team nixed the trade for Crosby, they will need all the 1st round picks they can get Quote
deeshopper Posted Monday at 12:37 AM Posted Monday at 12:37 AM Whew! At least I won't have to shell out money for playoff tickets. Quote

I'm glad Fagano is in and I like this stress free season of the Ravens moving forward. I don't agree with Papa's fire sale opinion, but we should get rid of guys that would probably be gone next year and other teams as depth. Next year, with hopefully some mid draft pics from any trades made, we rebuild our trenches. Oh yeah...Loop should be gone Quote
oldno82 Posted Monday at 06:31 PM Posted Monday at 06:31 PM No we absolutely should not trade for a QB. I'd rather pick up one off the free agent scrap heap than waste a draft pick on somebody else's backup. The bottom line is that this season is shot and can't really be saved so trade some guys who are at the end of their time with us and start the rebuild process. The only thing I hate is throwing Nano out there with no pass protection, but it is what it is. Quote
GrubberRaven Posted Monday at 07:57 PM Posted Monday at 07:57 PM It did look like Vega is working his way back though...could that help? Quote
oldno82 Posted Monday at 08:02 PM Posted Monday at 08:02 PM That will help some but our tackle play, especially Rosengarten, has left a lot to be desired. Rosengarten seems to have grown worse each season. I don't understand why. He was at least decent when he was a rookie. Quote
GrubberRaven Posted Monday at 08:04 PM Posted Monday at 08:04 PM the talent beside him no doubt Quote

tsylvester Posted Monday at 11:57 PM Author Posted Monday at 11:57 PM Yes no doubt but given the lack of talent being selected, maybe it is time to change the chef.. Simpson has to be benched, he is actually worse than Faalele was last year. Vorhees has just never lived up to his preinjury-predraft hype. Jones, still who knows on him, does he need more work exposure or is he really that weak that he cant block a freaking safety? Way too early to judge Jurgens, same for Ioane, Stanley is clearly past his use by date, he is spoiled for sure. Rose, as I said, I hoped a new coach would help him back to his rookie form, but sadly, no. I don't know how you miss on this many players for the line Quote
GrubberRaven Posted Tuesday at 02:34 PM Posted Tuesday at 02:34 PM The Simpson deal was boggling, but I'm noticing a tendency of players going all out for a new contract and then coasting...often stating they were paid for what they did, not for what they will do. Quote

Yeah, seems to be the way a lot of players today are going Quote
oldno82 Posted Tuesday at 11:11 PM Posted Tuesday at 11:11 PM Unfortunately, I think that is true. The GMs need to add more incentives in contracts. Quote

tsylvester Posted 16 hours ago Author Posted 16 hours ago True but other teams, Bills, Chiefs, Rams, etc seem to have little trouble doing it. Now with that said, next year's salary for him and cap hit is unrealistic and very prohibitive, since he cut off negotiations earlier this year, if he is unwilling to make a deal or accept a trade we will see His true intentions. The Bears hit the honey spot with Williams, his low salary and fixing their line issues of the past few years. Bolstered their defense because of it and are a realistic Super Bowl contender. The Ravens have swung and missed on the line. This is right where we were a few years ago with Flacco; big salary and a terrible line. I fall back on 2024, what changed on the line? 1 guard, and a line coach who died all of a sudden the same players could no longer block. Record setting offense that year, playoff run cut short because of turnovers. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago But you kept a dude held together by baling wire and duct tape. He will only get worse. Also center gone. Rose hadn’t been figured out yet. Wasn’t zeitgeist still here? Quote

Rose hadn’t been figured out yet. Wasn’t zeitgeist still here? Yes, they, Eric, coaching staff, our wonderful capologist, let him walk and even refused, apparently, to sign him earlier this year when the issues at center began. Either way you have to pay a quarterback, you cant keep going duck duck goose every five years when a rookie deal runs out, hoping to find the right qb and win a championship. But you can draft well, especially at the line positions, and find young talented players for the rest of the team if you also develop them well. These two things the Ravens have failed to do: deaft well and develop well. Quote
oldno82 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago They really need a new RT and G who can start right away. Also, a new LT even if Stanley stays. All 3 of them have to be ready to start. That's a big ask but maybe possible through free agency and the draft if they have the GM/Scouting talent to pull it off. I'm feeling it also about a new GM though Eric did finally 'get it' on how to draft wide receivers. If only he could do the same with offensive lineman. Quote
