papasmurfbell Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/14/saints-making-a-push-for-free-agent-ben-grubbs/Per NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora, the Saints are “making a push” to sign free agent Ben Grubbs. Nicks is the top offensive guard on the market. Grubbs is No. 2. Both players have been left guards throughout their careers, so the transition would likely be natural for Grubbs to go to the Saints. But he could get one soon in NO.
cravnravn Posted March 14, 2012 Author Posted March 14, 2012 Yeah, I seen the Saints lost Nicks..Oh well, enjoy the green Ben
papasmurfbell Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/14/redskins-taking-a-look-at-top-free-agent-guard-ben-grubbs/Now he is looking at Landover. Like I heard the other day players go to DC for the green. They are there for the cash and that alone. The players of the league know that DC is where you go for money but not to win.
oldno82 Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 DC seems to be a graveyard for your career if you're interested in winning. But, if its just the cash, then by all means go.
papasmurfbell Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Yep. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/14/free-agent-guard-mathis-to-visit-the-ravens-tonight/Evan Mathis is coming to town.
vmax Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Oher Tweets That He Feels Good About Grubbs StayingTwitter.com - March 13Ravens right tackle Michael Oher has a good feeling that the Pro Bowl left guard will be back in Baltimore. Oher was asked by a fan on Twitter why he doesn’t try to keep Grubbs in Baltimore, and Oher responded by saying “talked to him last night it’s looking good!!”
cravnravn Posted March 15, 2012 Author Posted March 15, 2012 Yep. http://profootballta...ravens-tonight/Evan Mathis is coming to town. Please Harbs dont get in the habit up picking up your former teams throw aways.
papasmurfbell Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 http://profootballta...fs-on-thursday/ Marvez also reports that the Ravens and Rams are showing “strong interest” in WinstonThis is an upgrade at OT. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/15/special-teams-dynamo-nakamura-visiting-panthers/ Haruki looks like he is on the move.
papasmurfbell Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 He was gone the moment they signed Yanda. Don't take players words on this stuff.
RavenMad Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 At $7.2mill/year we just couldn't afford Grubbs. My guess is we offered about 6mill per year and it just wasn't enough. Next man up. Maybe we get Mathis for about half that price.
papasmurfbell Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Grubbs is staying. I can't see Ozzie letting him go. So anyone else still so certain. It was simple math that said he wasn't coming back.
oldno82 Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 http://profootballta...fs-on-thursday/ This is an upgrade at OT. Can he play LT? I'd hate to see Oher have to move back to LT again.
oldno82 Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 I think we can live with Redding and JJ gone but Grubbs' loss is a real blow...just didn't have enough cap room.
papasmurfbell Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Ozzy basically said he was out in the state of the Ravens.
