vmax Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 It was a slaughter all the way around.571 yards of offense.6 TD's: Boldin, Streeter, Leach, Rainey, Williams all caught a TD pass and Taylor ran one in.Joe looked very good. Torry Smith has 8 catches for 103 yards and 12.9ypc.They ran for 138 yards and a 5.3 ypc.10 for 16 on 3rd down.76 plays to 58.And Jones run a kick back for 51 yards and Thompson runs one back for 63.Tucker kicks 53 yard FG. Real Nice night. I think the Jags scored 65 points their last 2 games....only 3 for their 1's tonight. Taylor throws a pick 6 and they get a garbage TD with 2 minutes left. I've got a long list of players who looked good. Quote
reddog271 Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 That left tackle looked pretty good today. lol Quote
cravnravn Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 That left tackle looked pretty good today. lol You are absolutely correct Dog, and thats what I want to see, Oher on the right, McKinney on the left.. Absolutely wonderful watching the game and its being commented by Jag announcers, they were high and mighty in the first quarter, but after the D tightened it up a notch and we were starting to shut their first team down, they were giving mad props to our D.. But that WR they have Blackmon, hes going to be a beast, Megatron beast in this league. Great to see an old friend and neighbor get some face time on the TV last night, the driver of the John Deere cart for injured players was my neighbor & friend...Even Tony Beselli commented about how much face time he was getting...LOL, The guy has been doing it since day 1 for the Ravens, and he does it for giggles & grins, he own a John Deere dealership in Harford Co, not lawnmowers, but the big 700,000 dollar combines that you see on farms.... vmax Posted August 24, 2012 Author Posted August 24, 2012 That was a totally patched up O line last night that got the job done.... Bryant McKinnie made his first start at left tackle, but Baltimore didn't really have a choice. With Marshal Yanda being held out with an leg injury (not considered serious), the Ravens moved Bobbie Williams from left to right guard and put Kelechi Osemele from right tackle to left guard. That shifted Michael Oher from left to right tackle. Hope you got all of that because there will be a quiz later.http://espn.go.com/blog/afcnorth/post/_/id/53254/observation-deck-ravens-jaguars Quote
cravnravn Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Patchwork it might have been, BUT it worked, the first drive they gave up a sack on 3rd down that led to a FG, even the best get sacked..Ray Rice played what 2 series, he touched the ball 3 times!!! 2 carries 30 yards, 1 catch 14 yards...O-Line did their job!! Quote
yagersports Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 We're gonna need more from Rice. lol Just kidding. That felt good. Can't take too much from preseason, however one notable thing that I really enjoyed. Flacco found his new "Mason". Smith is going to have a very big year. And that means that Boldin is going to see alot of one on one coverage. I'm Ok with that. Does anyone thing Flacco's release is quicker? I watched the highlights and man the ball came out of his hands quick. The TD to Boldin was very pretty, a little jump and BAM the ball was dead on the money. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 When Joe got smashed in the back early in the 2nd half Bryant did ok. I could not tell who the other guy came off of. Does anyone know. Quote
thundercleetz Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Flacco looked like a completely different QB out there. He is in complete control of that offense. I am so glad to see the training wheels have finally been taken off. The goal-line TD to Boldin was vintage Peyton Manning: extended play action and a quick high release throw to the back of the endzone. Torrey Smith looked AWESOME. You forget how fast he is because he runs so easy, but he can turn it into another gear at will it seems. Joe has a really nice rapport with Smith. He is going have a monster year! Boldin looked good working with Joe as well. Jacoby's timing with Joe is still a little off, but man Jacoby can really fly. Defenses are going to have a hard time loading the box with Jacoby and Torrey on the field. The first throw to Jacoby should have been a touchdown. Jacoby tore past the DBs and Joe placed a pass perfectly between the corner and the safety in the Cover 2 (which btw is a read Joe has struggled with in the past) and it was just out of the reach of Jacoby. Jacoby is going to make some plays for us this season. One more thing, Joe was utilizing the TE a lot, and this was our third stringer. Imagine how good we'll be with Pita and Dickson back. I was really impressed with KO. The guy has a mean streak and is powerful. Even in pass blocking he delivers a powerful punch that shots the defender. It looks like he could be a world-class shot put with explosive hands like that. Great block on the long RR run too. Quote
oldno82 Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 I'm starting a campaign for Justin Tucker. This kid could be outstanding for a long long time. Torrey Smith was fantastic as were Joe's throws in the short and intermediate ranges. His 2 long passes were just off a hair. OLine looked good and KO impressed me. I think he's a winner and long term solution. Our D did good but I still want to see more pressure on the opposing QB. And, I'll admit I haven't been a fan of his but Tyrod showed me something last night. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 It looks like Cundiff is out already. After what he said last night he should be done. Reading it looks like Birk is the one who got Joe hit like a ton of bricks. Listening to the radio he Birk was getting his ass kicked last night. 1 Quote

cravnravn Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 And, I'll admit I haven't been a fan of his but Tyrod showed me something last night. What did he show?, that he can throw pick 6's two weeks in a row?? Painter should be the #2, Quote
vmax Posted August 24, 2012 Author Posted August 24, 2012 I love watching Pollard. He just wants to hit anybody and anything near him.Webb too....he led the team in tackles. Another observation: Pees does not want to tip his hand so he's going "vanilla". Therefore he's forced to basicly rely on his 4 man line to rush the passer. He learned a lot. They, alone, can't sack the QB or get pressure. Except when nobody blocks them... Pees will have to blitz early and often. I'm sure he will. He's a master of disguises and will make it hard as hell for QB's to read what D the Ravens are in and where Hell is comming from. Quote

Painter should be the #2,As I said, Crav, I'm not a fan of his---I don't like qbs whose talent is more on the run than in the pocket, but he didn't look too bad to me last night. I missed the series Painter was though I saw his TD pass to Streeter on replay. Tyrod does throw too many INT's. He'll have to improve that to make a real statement. Quote

yagersports Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 No more bend but don't break when you got players with an attacking mentality. I'm sure Mattison is a great defensive mind but honestly, talk about not using the talent around you. Quote
oldno82 Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Thanks, Crav. I need all the help I can get with my memory. I haven't seen Pees 'unleash havoc' in any of the games so far but he could be holding back until the season starts...I hope anyway. Yager's right: we don't want a bend not break philosophy with our D. We want to attack. Quote
