Was That Really Our Offense?

WTF, the offense on that first series was awesome! I've been waiting for years to see them execute an offense that well.

I kept a close eye on Rick Wagner. That guy can play! So I just might wind up eating my words about how we shoulda drafted an OT!

Did anybody else notice that the line play sucked when Gradkowski and Shipley were in?

As I've been saying all year, this is a new team, a better team, and again, I am one of the very few posters on this board who had any faith in Rick Wagner. It's too early and only one practice game, but this team is for real.

I feel the same way..."waiting for years to see this level of o0ffensive execution"

It says Kubiak and his coaches can coach. His system is rock solid. The players were where they were supposed to be....and knew what they were doing.

so much to take away, but let us not get carried away. First pre season game, many of those plays the texans ran and defenses picked up on; pick six style, anticipating the throws. Remember, it wasn't just one game, but one series; BIG DIFFERENCE.

No depth, none, on the offensive line. sure, the first group looked great, imagine the big rookie back running behind them :yeah: but that second unit, on the whole is horrible. One injury along the line and the team is dead in the water. The defensive line looks lik it has great depth, gonna be hard to cut some one from there.... receivers looks like a strength too, good routes, snatching balls from than air rather than catching them; finally.....

That defense though, run right over until the front five got stout in the redzone. this new emphasis on hand checking is going to kill the defense, the corners all play that way and safety is still a big concern for me..... More games to see.....

If our second and third unit offensive line looked as bad as it did the 49ers have a lot to be concerned about for their second and third unit defensive line. We still ran all over them.

True, but a lot of that was the rookie, so quick to the hole and a road grader.....

It looked like Yanda was definitely helping out on Wagners blocks too. But I do believe is he can avoid false starts he can be an instant upgrade over Oher.

I did see Yanda and Wagner on a couple of combination blocks. That's a staple of Kubiak's system. What really impressed with Wagner was his ability to fight his man at the line of scrimmage rather than getting blown back into the backfield.

But, it is just one pre-season game. We'll see how things go.

We need more adequate backups on the O-line and, as we expected, help in the secondary.

I'm afraid Gradowski and Shipley have to go. They were letting the in the flood on passing plays.
