Ellerbe was fantastic when he was on the field. He was a play maker Even when he was a backup you could see flashes. To me - he was the difference maker on defense during our run. 5 years 35 mil? The Ravens should have done that deal or at least tagged him. My only concern with him was injuries but I would have taken the risk.

I agree....so what's the plan then? Why the need to free up another $6 mil? This team has earned my trust so i'll reserve final judgement until we see what they do with this savings. Part of me says there must be SOME reason they basically gave away a guy who was still making spectacular plays in the most crucial situations just months ago. Maybe the Ravens are looking at a massive Jake Long type upgrade at Left Tackle. I don't know. My initial reaction though is that this is a stupid move to make because you didn't want to spend an extra $2 mil

He's 33 not 36. What are you afraid he's going to lose? His speed? He is already slow. Mason was putting up 1000 yard seasons well after he was 33. He has a lot left in the tank.

I do not like this deal. A 6th? Really. They could not do better than a 6th? This guy was THE dominant personality and leader on offense. He brought toughness and swagger to that side of the ball. There were times when the offense just wasn't moving and when that happened who did they turn to do bail them out? They got rid of the guy who showed up big in the biggest games the Ravens have played...for $2 million? This is ridiculous.

It was fun to watch Harrison play. In his prime he was a menace. His body is starting to wear down but I think he still has a good year left

Good. I have been forced into getting DirectTV just for Sunday Ticket and I am liking them less and less every year. Sunday Ticket is awesome, but DirectTV's customer service has taken a dive in recent years. It'll be nice to have a choice If they make Sunday Ticket available to multiple cable providers. It should also drive the price down to something more reasonable if fans can get the package on Verizon or Comcast as well.

I honestly don't mind what Lebaeau said. When the Steelers beat the Ravens a couple of years ago en route to losing to the Packers Harbs said he felt that the was the Ravens' SB the Steelers were playing in. This is the same thing.

I doubt we win this Superbowl without the bitter taste of last years close but no cigar in our mouths. That said, we are as primed as any team to compete for titles over the next 5 years. Hopefully Dalton continues to struggle because not having 3 good QB's in the division would certainly help.

If they do backtrack and use it I'd say ellerbe is most likely. Krugers tag would be way too high and I think they can bring reed back without the tag because of his desire to stay in baltimore.

I hope the exclusive rights tag is used. I'm seeing all these articles that say the Ravens will use the non-exclusive tag and gamble. I don't like the sound of that
