  1. Hills Street Blues, I know, I'm dating my self, great show back in the early 80's...
  2. Unless Brown is willing to give a cap friendly deal, there is no chance of affording him. He has shown to be a very right tackle, a good left tackle & guard. He has worked hard and earned the pay day; he was very raw, slow footed, bad hand placement type coming out of college. With Lamar's, that is going to eat up 60% or so of the cap, then what? How do you fill in the guards, the defensive line, the wideouts, the secondary? There is good talent in the draft, most raw, and yes the Ravens have been good at filling in depth from the draft in those positions, but that would be asking a lot. Unless you want to waste Lamar's running talent on the next 2-3 years while these young guys develop....
  3. McPhee and Wolf are keepers if not just for their leadership & work effort. Bowser is also a keeper, while he has likely hit his ceiling, he has become an overachiever. Hill can go, great special team player but worthess on offense. Get the speedy back from Duke, much faster, 4 gears, and the wind doesn't knock him over. Brown is likely going to be too expenaive, sadly, he has turned into a very good lineman. Small cap due to the pandemic, will cut the Ravens $15-20 mil cap space down considerably, as it will other teams so maybe they can keep the well deserving players who worked hard the Raven way.
  4. https://news.yahoo.com/ravens-gm-decosta-initiates-roster-212731321.html Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta has already started making some of the tough decisions he believes can help Baltimore negotiate the leap from playoff qualifier to Super Bowl champion. After releasing running back Mark Ingram and quarterback Robert Griffin III last week, DeCosta announced Monday that the Ravens won't re-sign All-Pro long snapper Morgan Cox. The 34-year-old Cox was the initial component of a highly successful placekicking unit that includes holder Sam Koch and second-team All-Pro Justin Tucker, the most accurate field-goal kicker in NFL history. Nick Moore, 28, comes at a cheaper price than Cox, who's been sending the ball back between his legs for 11 seasons. Moore handled the job efficiently in a December game against Pittsburgh when Cox was on the reserve/COVID-19 list
  5. Wagner & Hill Street, then you are a hairball...
  6. Rob, that is not Rex... Anthony Weaver back too, but as a coach, not a playa... NFL.com: Ravens hiring Rob Ryan, Anthony Weaver to fill defensive assistant vacancies. https://www.nfl.com/news/ravens-hiring-rob-ryan-anthony-weaver-to-fill-defensive-assistant-vacancies
  7. With the number one running game, play action should work with the right routes, with the receivers running them properly; in theory any way...
  8. I have no issue with extending him. I am quite happy, as Ive said before, with 350+ yards of offense, whether that is 250 passing and 100 running, visa versa, so long as it is compelling, competitive, and yes, wins would be nice. My issue is and has been even when Joe was the qb; provide the right team around him. They failed with Joe, a pocket passer, they did not get him a good pass blocking line. Lamar has a good enough line, minus a player or two in the middle. Neither he nor Joe has the receivers or they didnt/ don't have passing scheme to be successful consistently. Joe had the same issue; receivers running routes on top of or into each other. Receivers not able to read coverage properly on option routes. So clearly the issue is 1) coaching & or 2) scouting maybe even 3) front office in selecting receivers. Pay Lamar, but get him receivers or coaching to help the passing game. 11 + wins is nice but as we have seen over the course of NFL history, the post season is a different animal, you have to be able to adjust to either run when they shut down your pass first offense, or throw when they shut down your run first offense. There is a very good nucleus on this team, offense, defense, special teams. Good enough to win a super bowl with the right players to complement them; don't waste the next 3-5 years.
  9. Getting a number one is nice, but when your 2nd, 3rd and even 4th options are running routes a few yards from each other, what good is a number one if he is double covered? The play designs, route combos are also a major factor, you can't run a short option route, a simple in route and a short drag route all to the same side; no one will be open. You can't run timing routes if the qb is unwilling to throw on time, anticipatory... No one seems to want to talk about that last fact, only that Lamar is a wonderful, fun player to watch, dynamic player who needs "more help". If you look at the all 22, you will see many plays each game, where he had time, had the receiver, if he only threw on time, would be explosive plays..
  10. Clearly the coaches think Castillo can't cut it, why else sit the only center who snaps perfectly, is quick on his feet and has a mean streak? That is the only reason I say we need to draft Dickerson from Bama.. I heard one of the talking heads, Clarke, on Espn say the Ravens need a passing game coordinator, I can't agree more, the route combinations are tired when you see how other teams use their routes. The receivers don't run them properly to get open, when you watch other receivers run their routes on other teams. The Ravens have drafted, brought in talent, changed qb's, coordinators, still with the same result; no passing game. Biscuit has to cough up the dough and get a specialist in there, teach the receivers, teach Lamar, direct the passing game; enough is enough
  11. KC is playing with fire, so many close games the past month, month & a half. If Mahomes plays, maybe they squeak out another one. If not, they will be done. I do agree, I think the Packers are the better team than Tampa, should be a fun week end with two good games.
  12. Big first down, now run the dang gumb ball
  13. I cant believe they threw the ball
  14. Punt? Punt? Go for it, you only have 1 timeout left
  15. If KC gets knocked out, the NFC stands a good chance to win the Super Bowl...
  16. Out for the game, concussion, we are at a one score game.... Cleveland, can you do it?
  17. He barely got hit in the head, if at all. He was tackled by the neck so I wonder if he got choked out, not concussed out...
  18. Willie Snead after the game. An honest opion, we heard last off season that Lamar had come very far in his passing.. Let us hope he works even harder rhis off season, as I am sure he will. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/01/17/willie-snead-thinks-loss-will-be-a-wake-up-call-for-lamar-jackson/
  19. Max, silver lining in a cloud. Yet another game fhe Ravens lost, not the other team winning. There is very good young talent on this team, with health and the right moves, this team should be a playoff contender for a few years at least
  20. What a great job by the defense, another stellar performance. It was a solid year, there will be little cap space, few draft picks, so the offeseason has to be won. Now go get Dickerson, center, Bama, a rush backer, and see what else they can land in the draft. This offense needs help, maybe time will be it's friend...
  21. Just get him the right cleets!
  22. This song came right to my mind when I read your post Max.. Slip slidin' away Slip slidin' away You know the nearer your destination The more you're slip slidin' away I know a man He came from my home town He wore his passion for his woman Like a thorny crown He said Delores I live in fear My love for you's so overpowering I'm afraid that I will disappear Slip slidin' away Slip slidin' away You know the nearer your destination The more you're slip slidin' away
  23. Bill is out of a job because he chose fo retire and enjoy more time with his family while also working an easier, stress wise, job on tv....
  24. Max, I think Bill's main point was the money issue; why sign a guy like Stanley, arguably the best left tackle in the game when you have a qb as elusive as Lamar? Brown has proved an average left tackle will work just as well. Take that Stanley money and give Lamar a play maker on the outside, this way, even IF, his shelf life- elusiveness- fades, he can still have the play maker on the outside. Imagine a Diggs on the outside, Andrews gets open more, as does Snead, single coverage, even the running game is helped.
